Ted Walsh just said he hasn't a hope In a GC. I agree. Last week I wouldn't have. He also said Djakadam would eat him up too.
Not pretty but effective!! He won the DON POLI way but the most important thing is he won and he had more should have he needed it! But gentlemen we just saw the future gold cup winner 2016

Job done, at least it keeps the betting open as well, wouldnt want him winning half the track and getting cut to 9/4
that ground can be a leveler and hes beat 2 horses who have run consistently in Grade 1s over the course and distance for the last few years
that was the closest we have seen to the bottom of him but at the end he had their measure and neither would get anywhere near him at Cheltenham on decent ground
that was probably a stronger race than it will get credit for, certainly a better trial than the King George where the best horse in the race was a non stayer and only got beat on the line

Smad Place had First Lieutenant 12 lengths back in 3rd in the Hennesey giving him 8lbs on Heavy ground as well.
No bigger fan of Don Poli than me but I just don't see it now. Hopefully he does improve and as we know he will keep finding for pressure but today has dented my faith for the big one an awful lot.

Paddy Powers now go 6/1 (from 4's) Don Poli. Don Cossack into 5's (from 7's) with Djakadam into 7/2 (from 4's)
Zabanna just touched off unluckily at the Cheltenham Festival and was third behind Jezki and Fly in a Grade 1 on his last start brought form to the table on a different league to what he faced today. As low as 14/1 for the JLT, and will like better ground too, yeah he's a very, very good horse
