I had to double take at Arctic Fire mate- seems crazy. He deserves to go to he Champ Hurdle again based on his form so hope he gets that opportuntity. He, Nichols Canyon and Faugheen are a right set of 3 and I can't wait to see them lock horns, more for Faugheens legacy than anything. There's naff all in England to threaten them!

You have to remember Arctic Fire is not exactly a bomb proof 2 mile horse lads, 2 wins over 2 mile and another 2 wins over 2m4f from 16 runs. I think the 3 mile is right up his alley, he travels really well and is versatile regarding tactics. I'd be surprised if he doesn't win tomorrow, he's been banging his head into the arses of too many animals just slightly better than him over the minimum trip and perhaps it's time to move him up permanently.

I think Martello represents some value at 4s.Has won first time out the last two seasons and we know he stays the trip.As Beefy said AF over 3m on heavy at 11/10 doesn't scream a value bet.Alpha De Obeaux is a decent horse but I couldn't back anything with Cooper on board. Not a race to get heavily involved in.We could be looking at a potential World Hurdle competator to Thistlecrack if Martello Tower puts in a decent shift.

Great! Some more rain on the way. Make a change from all this nice sunshine we've had the past 8 weeks or that <yikes>

Limerick and Leopardstown will be almost unraceable, but the horses might just get through it...

DON POLI to show how those King George horses how to really run and jump over 3miles and stake his claim as clear Gold Cup favourite - the Even money I got earlier this week as the race has cut up from the earlier declarations looks banging value now

Martello Tower was my tentative ante post flutter for this so I'm hoping he runs well. On seasonal debut though on real testing ground those with a run will have a big fitness advantage.

Race of the day and I genuinely can't believe no ones mentioned it, that beginners chase is pure novice chasing porn... :emoticon-0115-inlov The beast that is Tell us More, a real nice horse who was second to Pont Alexandre and a horse that followed home Jezki and the Fly on his last start... This always produces a good winner, Djakadam won it in the past and last year, a very good horse of Liz Doyle's who sadly lost it's life won. Better race than the Lexus! That's a Don Poli procession :emoticon-0103-cool:

Off topic maybe but the bet of the day has to be a Chelsea win at Old Trafford. I know Chelsea are one of the worst teams in the Premiership along with the likes of Man U and Arsenal currently but Van Gaal is widely regarded to be days away from leaving Man U and has lost the dressing room (don't know why as it should be signposted). Will be his last game without a doubt. 0-1 is 8-1, 0-2 is 14-1 and 1-2 is 11-1. Got to back all 3.

Gone for Martello Tower, Tell us More, Sir Des Champs and Theophilus some really nice racing tomorrow. Think SDC will out speed the Don here but fully expect Don to reverse anything at Chelters.

Arctic Fire is in the Ryanair, chances of him being declared NR with a nasty R4?

I think it's a very sporting decision to go to the 3 mile route for Arctic Fire. It's a horrible division and he won't be good enough to beat Faugheen or Nicholls Canyon over 2 miles. If he stays then he could very well be at the top of the tree over the longer trip. His racing style gives him a very good chance of being able to stay the trip so long as they go fast enough to let him switch off. Either way it injects class into the Thursday.

Your guaranteed 4th place. You own it. Never in the history of the world has a team lost 4-0 at Southampton and gone on to finish in the top 3!

Any horse that SDC can out speed must surely be a statue? ;) SDC has all the gears of a single speed bike. This is a poor renewal of the Lexus and DP simply must win if we are to believe he is a Gold Cup contender. No bet for me but I do agree with you that SDC is the biggest threat to the favorite especially with Ruby on board.

The standard of the premiership has got so bad that the title winning team could well lose 8-10 games and still win it.I still don't think this Arsenal team is that good but there doesn't seem to be any other quality top four teams so we can get pasted by Southampton and then beat the teams around us the following games.I still think overall we will come runner up to Citeh who will most certainly strengthen on the January window while the miserly Arsenal board will keep their greedy hands in zee pockets.
