Well done on all the winners lads. Thought Toppy was smoking more of his pot when he put up old boy Flemenstar but winner, winner chicken dinner as they say. Thoughts. UDS probably is looking decent value for the QM chase now, bit like Faugheen when he was beat first time out. Sprinter and Sire are very similarly matched horses, on that form today, so there roughly on a par with Special Tiara so you'd have to say that won't be good enough in March. The funny thing about UDS was he fell lost about 25l but still won going away (minus Rupert obviously) maybe they should hold him up in future Cooper had another questionable enough ride on my sole bet Tombstone, he's being doing that often enough. He looked the new Ruby a couple years back but he's not riding as well now. That Long Dog just keeps improving doesn't he. I'd say he's Cheltenham class, what race is anyone's idea.
I always thought Gigi made a mistake Jocking off Davey for Cooper,or Spoofer as I refare to him these days
Oh yeah, what the feck has Rich Ricci been smoking if he still aiming Vautour at the Gold Cup. Non stayers don't win Gold Cups Mr Ricci
They'd be better off keeping a lid on him for the first 2 or 3 fences before letting him off his leash. I love Sprinter but you can't say on today's show that he has UDS measure. I agree with you UDS looks value and I suspect today will have knocked the freshness out of him and he will begin to look a heap better ready for March. The Arkle looks Douvan-bound because Sizing John and Vaniteux both look short of his level. Vaniteux will reverse form with the winner today but I think he has a good bit to find at Cheltenham. Got lucky with Flemenstar today but it was a gut feeling thing mate- sometimes they go our way but 9 out of 10 they don't so I'll enjoy it and couldn't be more pleased for the horse. The Gold Cup is the thing that leaves me most puzzled for March. Road To Riches and Djakadam suddenly look in pole position but Don Poli and even Sir Des Champs will put their word in tomorrow. More of That is the one I'm monitoring- will they take a gamble with Coneygree and possibly Vautour out? Champion Hurdle and Arkle look set fair. Not so sure Min is the answer in the Supreme. I like Hendersons Bouveir D'air a lot but can't say I'm uber confident. Thoughts?
Beefy I was to hungover to go!Will try to get Tuesday in. Nice summary Toppy-Can't be having any Henderson horse in the Supreme though-Min looks the one to be on from what I've seen so far
If UDS jumps he'll win it in a nutshell. Really thought he'd left the door ajar for Sprinter Sacre to set a big marker but he kind of fell in today. With a better jump at the last Sire would have beaten him so that probably confirms that SS's miles behind what he was and has only a few pound in hand ahead of the likes of Sire and Tiara etc I just think UDS is simply a better horse and the one with the biggest engine. But he's not unbeatable as he can fall. You know my Gold Cup views, the big lazy boat Don Poli ticks the boxes for me. I think you'll be lucky to see 7/2 top price tomorrow night the way the rogues loves to cut them! On Min for Supreme from a good while back but he was a shot in the dark. With Willies second tier ones winning in Ireland and credible enough showing behind Altior I think IF Min is his top dog he's going to be hard beat come March ain't he? Yanworths the best of the English for me. He looks to have everything. I do like him.
Sometimes it's just a drunken sprint round to the bookies without much thought, most of the time I over analyse myself out of winners
Knew that race was up for an outsider. Picked the one that fell! Davy Russell makes his point yet again.
I love the crabbing here of Sprinter Sacre because Sire De Grugy got so close and may possibly have won with a better jump at the last. That's Sire De Grugy the 2014 Champion Chase winner who possibly is coming back to somewhere near his stunning best race by race. The excellent marker horse Somersby was 14.1/2 lengths back in fourth. Had the race been run at Leopardstown with five Mullins/Gigginstown big trotters we would have been getting bored ****less on here listening to how stunningly amazing the front two are. The GB v Ireland Champion Chase battle is well and truly on! PS, don't even bother quoting the UDS v Vibralto Valtat form as the Nicholls horse does not ever seem to do his best at Cheltenham.
UDS is definitely beatable, hes always been a nutter and he hasnt beat much, nothing near the class of Sprinter Sacre or Sire De Grugy Zulu council for 7/4 backers at this stage
Ah FFS heard all this crap last year too about the Mullins favourites too, ridiculous price, beat nothing blah blah blah but you got it served right up ya last year Boris and there's more of the same coming next year! By the way, are you head of the Zulu council?
