Nigel pearson formed a strong squad over a period of time at Leicester using players of a similar quality to the ones we currently have, i see no reason why with the correct manager our players cant get into the play offs. Unfortunately our squad has underachieved for so long now that they i sometimes wonder if they actually beleive in themselves.
The squad should be playoff material but the constant managerial merry go-round has destroyed any hope of that, the team needs stability & 3 managers, different coaches in half a season just shows how poorly managed this club is.
If you compared squads with other teams in the playoffs I think most would agree we should have been good enough to challenge but 3 managers in half a season has destroyed any hope of that, there were plenty of decent managers available at the time we appointed CR but TF & Sir Les apparently new better & another season has been wasted due their ineptitude.
Do you really think Watford, Norwich & Bournemouth thought they were ready to go up, for any team who achieves promotion the sole aim the following season is survival & then hope can build from there. We had a chance after surviving one season which was subsequently blown by Hughes, last season we had a chance of survival going into the New Year but didn't strengthen in Jan & then capitulated. This summer will be a complete rebuild assuming we don't get promoted & then how long will it take to build a settled squad capable of achieving both promotion & the surviving in the Prem the fact is we just don't know it could be another generation.
I did it said 90+4 Can't believe it Just looked this league will eat itself Plenty of time I still reckon to mount a charge for 10th place
Always disappointing to lose, especially at the death, but the season could still go in any direction. We could sort ourselves out and finish 3rd, we could lose the plot and go down, or anything in between. Most likely, we'll muddle our way to 14th or similar, but anything is possible, and a month from now, the same applies.
