Wanna bet , 5 years ago Halifax bought Vardy for 15 ,000 pounds , 2 years later Leicester got him for 1,000,000 pounds ......sometimes ,,scenarios permitting , a few minutes is enough to get a player firing on all cylinders .
Gomis isn't cutting it , Ader is still out , who knows with Emnes any more and the window doesn't open for 3 games . Ayew could go in the window . I think McBurnie is on a fast track to at least make the bench and come on for the last 15 minutes in certain games . Then I guess we and he will see where we and he go from there .

Ayew will probably (hopefully) lead the front line, with Emnes and Gomis coming off the bench, I would put Emnes infront of Go-miss the donkey, at least Emnes knows how to stay onside.......<ok>

PS: McBurnie will simply fill the bench instead of Eder.

When Gomis is walking back to an onside position after our play breaks down he looks like an angry kid with his head down kicking a rock .
Eder is out , Gomis is frustrated ! I'm not against starting Emnes but he's damaged goods the way we've treated him . One thing I guarantee McBurnie would bring is a fresh , hungry effort looking to impress regardless of lack of expierence. And having a young striker gaining expierence can't hurt in the long term big picture .

McBurnie is not PL quality, one for the future, but you never know, Ben Davies was thrown in the deep end, and didn't sink...........<ok>

"McBurnie is not PL quality".

Well,he isn't the only one,so he should slot in seamlessly.

"Ben Davies was thrown in the deep end,and didn't sink".

Thanks Michael, for seeing his potential.

Not for me thanks, If he isn't getting a game at Palace, who don't have great strikers, not sure he can do much for us, If Gomis is to leave we need better than this, would be ok to a back up to who ever replaces Gomis.

The Club's P.L. future is in the balance, trunds, and I doubt there will be a long queue of the type of striker that you yearn for, seeking a move to South Wales. Our attractiveness has been somewhat diminished.
Sometimes it's a case of getting what/who you can,and keeping your fingers crossed.
Bamford may,or may not,be the answer, but we are now in the "beggar's can't be choosers" position.
Flirting with relegation is not the place to be when seeking top class players.

Not saying top class, but we can surely do better than a striker who is behind Chamakh and Wickham.

For the last half of this season , we need a proven striker who can slot right in .
I'm not talking a bank breaking transfer , just a good value , 4 -5-1 type that isn't working out somewhere else that needs a fresh start.....we use to be so good at spotting them in the past and now we need one for the future .
I still think we might be walking past Ader a little to quickly but time is of the essence

I interpreted your "better than this" to mean that you would only want a top name,P.L. established player,to come in January.
Sorry if I was incorrect in that belief.
Any player signed,by any Club,is a gamble.
Sometimes, even the big, expensive signings fail. Whereas, lesser mortals often thrive in new environments.
Bamford,or someone like him,( Vardyish),could succeed at Swansea, where he failed to shine at Palace. <cheers>

Swansea aren't the only ones in the market for such jewels.
Being on the cusp of relegation has made that search a lot more difficult.
Taking a gamble on a lower league hotshot may work out,but the odds are against it.

Bamford was on fire with Middlesbrough last season. Their style of play is closer to ours (our usual style) than Palace, so he may fit in better with us. Yes I know that Boro were/are in the Championship but I would prefer Bamford to Eder and probably Go-miss (as Phil calls him)

Although he missed against us at least he was in position to have a go. If he was to come to us on loan at least we could see whether to retain him for next season.

We don't have much good fortune with loanees, viz,Schekter;McEachran,Oliveira,et al.
