Jordi Gomez was another one. Gylfi and De Guz were around for so long,I'd forgotten they were loans.

Before we buy or get a loan striker we need to install a manager first IMO. We need a striker that the new manager wants and not someone with a good reputation at another club that could end up like gomis and is useless for the way the new manager wants us to play.... It's like putting the cart before the horse...

Monk is a very good manager which he has proved but while he has a chairman calling the shots then his hands are tied and he was made the scape goat in the end when the fault laid mostly at Jenkins door....It still is and unless he stops trying to be a manager then no manager today will save us.......Monk has had a £3m pay off and that is hush money according to many i know.....

"Monk is a very good manager".

Is this the same Monk who took the Club to the very edge of relegation,i.e.,ONE POINT above the drop zone.

You described Laudrup as being "useless" when he had the team in 12th place, and TWO POINTS off the drop zone.

What adjective do you ascribe to Monk? Or perhaps you are still working on it? <laugh>

Laudcrap had no skill at running a club and that is the main reason he was sacked. His ego ruined his chance of ever being able to manage a big club and it was all his own fault. His playing style can improve but if you cant treat the players and staff especially the chairman with respect then you wont last very long.....He thought he was above everyone at the club as his ego showed no bounds........He lost the respect of his players because of attitude and you cant run a club like that.......Monk saved the club dont forget that and he took us to our highest position in the premiership and did the double over man utd and arsenal in one season. we were a team to be feared under monk and if it was not for Jenkins bringing in players off his own back and insisting that the are played then we would not be where we are today. It caused a lot of problems in the dressing room with these new players earning twice as much as the players who had done well for us. Monk was and will be a good manager with nothing to prove and when he is ready he will come back into managing a big club again. He stuck by dyer when that twat Morgan had an affair but was told that dyer had to be shipped out. Monk never got the sack for the position we were in he was asked to go with a £3m sweetener because he stood by his players and principles and said a few home truths........Its our loss and that's why we are in the mess we are in.......Two different managers, one that knew how to run a club from top to bottom and one that had no interest whatsoever in club management and getting on with his players and staff who work at the club.

As manager he could have blocked the move and come out publicly by saying Dyer was staying put thus putting Morgan in a corner.

"Two different managers, one that knew how to run a club from top to bottom and one that had no interest whatsoever in club management and getting on with his players and staff who work at the club."
    - One manager who actually won something and signed players that were excellent value....who we sacked whilst in 12th place while holding our own in 2 cup competitions
    - One who has made a complete ****ing mess of it leaving us in 17th with Man City away to look forward to assuring us of an ACTUAL relegation place...got that Dai, NOT AN IMAGINED RELEGATION PLACE, an actual place as one of the 3 worst teams in the ****ing division at the half-way stage.

"Laudcrap had no skill at running a club and that is the main reason he was sacked. His ego ruined his chance of ever being able to manage a big club and it was all his own fault. His playing style can improve but if you cant treat the players and staff especially the chairman with respect then you wont last very long.....He thought he was above everyone at the club as his ego showed no bounds........He lost the respect of his players because of attitude and you cant run a club like that"
    - Which is it? Is Jenkins to get his own way or not? <laugh> Do we let the players make the decisions or the manager? <laugh>

"Monk saved the club dont forget that and he took us to our highest position in the premiership and did the double over man utd and arsenal in one season. we were a team to be feared under monk and if it was not for Jenkins bringing in players off his own back and insisting that the are played then we would not be where we are today. Monk was and will be a good manager with nothing to prove and when he is ready he will come back into managing a big club again."
    - Only if you call carrying on the exact same form as we had under Laudrup (with a fit squad, and less games, and most of the tough fixtures out of the way!) "saving the club" did he save it.
    - He took us to our highest position in the Premier League in the same way as Tony Pulis used to take Stoke City into 8th place with 50+ points....and he had **** loads of luck....it was nothing to be proud of and we were never "feared" you deluded fool.
    - When we signed the likes of Gomis, Ayew and others you and others claimed this was proof that Monk was respected in the game and could sign top players....changed your tune. AGAIN <laugh>
    - Monk picked the team, Monk coached the team and Monk was supposed to manage the staff. Your Jenkins porkie is just another one of your typical lame excuses.....
    - Which leads me on to
"Monk was and will be a good manager with nothing to prove and when he is ready he will come back into managing a big club again."
According to you Jenkins was managing the team not Monk....."you can't be a pimp and a prostitute too" <laugh> Which is it?
OF COURSE, IF MONK WAS MANAGING THE TEAM HE HAS PROVED HIMSELF A FAILURE IF YOU DEEM LAUDRUP A FAILURE FOR BEING IN 12TH, THE 6TH ROUND OF THE FA CUP AND THE LAST 32 OF THE EUROPA.

BY THE WAY THE MAN YOU INSULT SO OFTEN HAS WON JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING THERE IS TO WIN IN THE GAME.
    MONK WILL ALWAYS BE A FAILURE <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

I'm not sure why we're getting a new striker . Emnes and Ader , for all intents and purposes , are still in the crate .
I'd actually play them for a bit before I decided, later in the transfer window , what is needed or not needed.

Since Monk has departed the football has improved and so has our form.

If we appoint a new manager we should let him bring someone in....if it is Curt until the summer we should allow him to use the whole squad while we look to loan someone IMO.

None of us really know Emnes and Ader's possibilities , they both had literally no chance to show their stuff .
We've got a few games and still have 3 weeks of transfer time left after those games.
Ader's 2nd start I thought was pretty good then he got hurt .
If he is healed I think we should take him out for a spin , if he isn't then take Emnes out for a spin .
Also , soon as Tabanou is healed , I'd give him 3 straight games , if he still wants the chance

This striker stuff must be easier than we think mun ?
Just need someone tall, fast, strong enough to bounce defenders off and hold ball up a bit, know how to strike the ball which bit does what spin, swerve power etc, and above all else highly confident in thier ability to lift our team and put the ****s up the opposition !
    Surely two a penny aye ? :emoticon-0130-devil

Must have a few laying around down there somewhere !;)
