Dogs

Any would be intruder worth his salt could take on your dogs with a medium sized shovel.

Not a chance, 1 decent guard dog would easily take down a man with a shovel. You can't really swing the shovel when the dog has hold of the arm your holding it in:biggrin:

Granted you need to time it right ,but a well aimed swipe to the skull as it approaches would do the trick .

Alot easier said than done. I think you underestimate the speed of these dogs, not to mention how robust they are. There's no guarentee that 1 hit even square on the head would take them out

Well if the American Kennel Club say it then it must be true <doh>

I used to own a Golden Retriever, which is listed number 4, a spot ahead of Dobermans, and whilst my retriever was a great pet, he was knowhere near as trainable as my Doberman. If he seen a cat or a squirrel off the lead he'd be off. So couldn't walk him near roads or anything like that. My Doberman from the age of 9 months ignored everything and just walked by my side anywhere.

I also didn't say German Shephards don't do as they are told, I said they don't make as good a guard dogs as Dobermans, as they are high energy dogs that like to wander off and explore. If you call them yes they'll come back, but you can't keep calling them every 5 mins.

A Doberman is a lower energy dog, who is a lot more territorial, so they will guard whatever they see as their land or property. They also cling to their owners when you take them anywhere, this is a well known trait in them, this is why they are the best personal protection dogs too.

A Doberman was specifically bred to guard and protect this is why they are better at it, where as a German Shephard was bred to heard sheep.

I can assure you now that a Doberman would be a far more fearsome opponent for an intruder than any German Shephard would. It really isn't a contest in that department:biggrin:
Ffs<doh>

Look you Twat, you're the one who has been banging on about buying a KC registered dog. Now you are saying the Kennel club don't know what they are talking about.
Yer arse has been resoundly skelped once again on here. Now **** off ya tedious ****.

P.S.

I bet your Doberman is intelligent enough to be able to spell Shepherd correctly.<laugh>

FFS SN, man up. Everyone knows that the Chinese are dog lovers. Look at the video below to watch Dong Lee lovingly caress his dog's head with shovel.

Bruce Lee would take a Doberman no problem.

My next door neighbours years ago used to have a Doberman, it's best trick was jumping over the metal back garden fence. One day it fell short and gave itself a near castration. Not a smart dog as I recall.
It's no wonder Shergar needs a personal protection dog. I read one of his posts and a terrible urge to stab him in the ear with a rusty screwdriver comes over me.:emoticon-0112-wonde
