The Championship’s table-toppers head to W12 tonight, as QPR lock horns with unbeaten Brighton & Hove Albion under the Loftus Road floodlights.

In what promises to be a keenly-contested Championship fixture, the presence of the Sky Sports cameras is likely to add a bit of extra spice to the occasion, as is the return of former QPR favourite Bobby Zamora!

Rangers head into the fixture buoyed by a positive performance in Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate against Burnley.

Hasselbaink was full of praise for his new charges in his first match in the manager’s hot-seat, watching his side edge proceedings in the first period against the Clarets, only for the visitors to come on strong after the break.

Whilst Rangers were busy extending their mini unbeaten run to three matches at the weekend, Brighton’s stunning start to the campaign continued at Derby, where only a last minute Chris Martin spot-kick denied them all three points.

Manchester United loanee James Wilson flicked home his second goal in two starts to put the Seagulls ahead against the run of play, but Bradley Johnson's far-post header levelled matters by half-time.

Another loanee, Rajiv van La Parra, looked to have secured victory for the Seagulls, but Martin made it 2-2 after Gordon Greer was adjudged to have felled Johnny Russell in the area.

The draw extended Hughton’s side unbeaten record to 20 league matches, cementing their two point buffer at the top of the table.

    Bobby ZAMORA (Striker)

No stranger to Loftus Road, Bobby Zamora will make his return to the ground where he plied his trade for four seasons in search of goals.

The man capped twice by England will of course always be a hero in the Hoops fans’ eyes after scoring the goal that saw QPR return to the top-flight in 2014, following a 1-0 play-off final victory against Derby County.

Following his release, Zamora has shone at Brighton, scoring a number of goals already this season, and partnering Tomer Hemed in attack.

This is of course Zamora’s second spell with the Seagulls, after announcing himself with his goalscoring exploits for the club between 2000-03.

    Tricky game 21 - Preview

    Tuesday, 15th Dec 2015 14:42 by LFW

QPR welcome unbeaten league leaders Brighton, and our old chum Bobby Zamora, back to Loftus Road this evening for a televised Championship encounter.

A club that doesn't know its name, or its date of birth, is always going to struggle to agree on the design for a new badge. The ones revealed on the official website today have, predictably, divided opinion but are, surely, a vast, vast improvement on the monstrosity we currently parade around in at the whim of one Italian megalomaniac.

As per a conversation I had on the Twitter earlier, I quite like that we don't really know whether to put an apostrophe (back) in Queens, nor are we really sure whether 'Queens Park Rangers' should be considered as born in 1882 or 1886. It kind of adds to the chaotic, absent-minded, accident-prone history of the club we all love. Option two for me, but I'd be happy with one or three.

A tiny part of that history was eroded ever so slightly on Saturday when Brighton got a draw at Derby – that could easily have been a win, but for a controversial late penalty award. With that, they took the record for the longest unbeaten start to a season in this division with 20 games – a record previously held by Neil Warnock's QPR side of 2010/11. Honestly, I thought that 19 game run would stand for years – that Brighton have beaten it so soon highlights the size of the task we have on our hands tonight.

We will win this if Phillips and Hoilett get some good service in to Charlie and Leroy. Best starting eleven for quite a while (or even all season).

I'm on board the 207 en route to Loftus Road. Down the Uxbridge Road, to see the Queens Park Rangers!

Funny feeling in my bones we will do it today.

Win tonight which I expect with the strong line up will set up our season. A win and good performance will make the teams above us take note that we are in the mix big time for a promotion push.

Not yet, Junior has been solid and that is just what we need against a very good Brighton side.

Just about everyone has, but he still has been a major reason why we have let in so few goals recently.

From what I've seen of Fer lately, I'd have preferred Cheri to him in the central role. Now Fer score!!
