Idiots in the crowd booing what was a fantastic fight, because the corner pull there fighter out. Do they want to see O'Sullivan end up with brain damage just for there own entertainment. He was a beaten man who had bravely taken far to much punishment, the corner did the correct thing in pulling him out. I'd like to see more corners do this in future, as far to often you see fighters taking an unnecessary beating just because there pride won't allow them to quit. I think the corner did him a big favour there
Mega respect for Spike tonight- chin of steel, loads of heart, and crucially absolutely first class in defeat. Acknowledged Eubank, made no excuses, shook hands. Fans were the real winner.
What a chin aswell took some heavy clean shots and kept walking forward. Impressed by Jnr though he finally showed me something. Daniel Jacobs won't be an easy fight for him for the title and he'll more than likely have to travel to Anerica for it which is never an easy task
On Sky Atlantic there's a few documentaries on about Tyson and Ali if you haven't seen them. Tyson performing his one man show. Sky Atlantic +1 if you want to get the start and record it for after the live fights.
Don't forget Dillian Whyte was also unbeaten going into this, so he wasn't boxing a mug. So was still a very impressive performance from Joshua. If anything atleast it proves Joshua isn't just a sprinter of a boxer, and can still land big shots in the middle of a fight. Many people where expecting Joshua to tire but he didn't. He's obviously not been skipping any cardio sessions
One thing I'd say is Fury would absolutely destroy him. He's still a long way off being worldclass but he answered more questions tonight, fair play.
Have to strongly disagree with this. Fury doesn't have the power. Joshua is still a work in progress, really good performance tonight but if he lands one of them shots on Fury it'd be good night
Reminded me of the Lewis/Mason fight. Whyte was brave but ultimately took way too much punishment as did Mason. Onwards and upwards for this brllisnt kid Joshua.
I knew you'd disagree! Just my opinion, Whyte had him rattled in the second but he toughed it out, he's learning I'll give him that, but he's miles off the best at the minute. Tonight surely proved that. Not saying he won't get there, he's improving as he was in, for the first time, with someone who wasn't a pub fighter. Great fight anyway. Both leave with credit imo
I suggest you actually take a look at Furys overall record, he's been the distance 7 times in his career, and has been knocked on the canvas by the likes of Steve Cunningham a fighter with 7 defeats already and a worse fighter than Dillian Whyte. So it's hardly like Tyson Fury has gone through his career winning easily. He's been far more workmanlike in his career than Joshua has, that's for certain. I'd imagine he'll face David Haye first, and the winner of that fight will get the shot at the winner of Klitchko v Fury rematch
Now this is a more sensible statement. I'm not saying it's true but if Haye comes back anywhere near his best then him vs Joshua could be a belter
