I am quite happy with the way the two full backs played, they have been thrown into the first team in difficult circumstances and have performed ok. McNair has gone backwards from last season and I would have preferred Blackett to get a chance if Jones was going to be on the bench.
Mata has been woeful for the past few games and is obviously missing his link with Herrera, Memphis is getting better again (slowly), Martial is just a bit inconsistent.
Midfield was poor today, Carrick doesn't have the legs to do it on his own anymore and Fellaini is no great help there.
We still had enough on the field to win that game today but too few showed any real fight.

Atleast we scored which is better than last week.
Meanwhile Javier Hernandez scored a hatrick for Leverkusen tonight in 13 minutes![]()
A lack of fight comes from a lack of ideas. And where does that come from? The manager.
Treble, I agree with a lot of what you say and I also hate the slow build up, possession game van Gall has instilled into the team.
However I feel your hatred of van Gaal is clouding your judgement of the players performances, he decides the tactics, he decides the shape, he does not decide poor control, poor passing, poor finishing. I am not siding with anybody on our present board war, I am just stating the things I see game after game.
We have a squad capable of winning this league quite comfortably, they are not performing to their ability that is obvious, who is to blame?
I would say the blame lies equally with the manager and the players.
That is relegation form. Since the loss at Arsenal, this team has completely lost its way. And the manager has to take the blame for that 100%.United, by the way, have won only three of their last 12 in all competitions.
Fair enough Diego
The poor finishing I agree with. But I'd say the poor passing and poor control is a symptom of the tactics and the training.
I've never said the players aren't completely at fault. But this was also true under Moyes. Ultimately though, the way a team plays comes down to the manager. I am absolutely convinced another manager would have this squad playing better. IF that's true as I believe it to be, then the players aren't the underlying problem. I guess that's what it boils down to for me.
How the hell is poor control symptoms of tactics? Seriously? Is that something you can train someone over a weekend? You can't blame the trainer for that.Fair enough Diego

Why do we keep mentioning fkn Moyes. Can we please get over that man? He is a disaster and shocked you think he would do better give all that you claim to know.Another manager could/should/would get better out of this squad, however, the squad would need to want that.
You mentioned Moyes, I believe he could have done better but was screwed by 3 of my favourite players (who all left at the end of the season as they were past the sell by date). Would he have been good enough, I doubt it because he doubted himself too much. The thing with players is they have the to play as the manager asks and make it work or screw it up dependent on their wishes.

I guess De Gea's mistake today was also down to tactics.
They would want that depending on 2 reasons imo. Firstly they can see it working (builds confidence) and secondly they believe in it (which invariably depends on the first bit). That's where LVG has lost their confidence and it shows.
You're right that the players have to play as the manager asks, but they're human beings like the rest of us. What if they can't make it work? Or what if they do everything the manager asks but it doesn't work? It's not like they're purposely trying to screw it up, they've either lost confidence bcos they're not seeing it working, or they no longer believe in it. There is a 3rd reason ofcourse, that they're not good enough...but that is just plainly bollox.
You've changed your tune pal! That is relegation form. Since the loss at Arsenal, this team has completely lost its way. And the manager has to take the blame for that 100%.
If you are managing a business and you has p!55 workers, it is your job as a manager to spot that and put controls in place to fix it. The fact that we started the season with only two recognizable strikers was the biggest c0ckup to begin with.
Not excuses from me you ****** just fackts
Did not deserve anything from this match. I am not an LVG fan but we must recognise that this was a reserve side. Even before the match no sane fan would have been confident![]()
Diego, I somehow saw your post as one from Treble. I mostly enjoy stalking him hence my reference to all knowing of things to do with football. LolWhat exactly do I claim to know? I am a supporter among millions, I watch football and speak what I see.
Never claimed to know anything more than anyone else![]()
You can't win 3 out of 12 games and beg for mercy. That is an unacceptable return on investment. You've changed your tune pal!
