I'm temporarily running his account while certain parts of his anatomy are secured in their rightful place.

The real HIAG would NEVER be seen defending the rights and/or the wisdom of Chelsea fans. The mere thought of doing it would cause him to spontaneously combust.

Anyway, I must be off. The Liverpool board needs his urgent attention.

It is true, that my local cock clinic is due to go on high alert from around 8pm, this evening. The country's greatest cock-surgeon has been duly notified.

Trouble with that HIAG is fans are like voters.their idea of a considered position is that everyone is entitled to their opinion. That would be fine if each had his own opinion. sadly most pick up 'their opinion' from very dubious sources. These 'opinions' become pops which become a torrent that washes away what little sense there is in the game, hence the lack of long term development in most teams that just like the country live from flood to flood to drought to fire. With the emphasis on fire!

Erm...he's sort of barred from there. Along with several other boards. I'm sure City and WBA would ban him too, if there was ever anybody on their board to read his Wum's.

SAF was a one-off. His like will never been seen again. But some of his principles can still be applied - and I don't see LvG doing things they way they should be done. There are two in particular.

    1. Even a club with Utd's wealth has to have a structured transfer policy. You can't just splash infinite amounts of cash and hope it pays off. All clubs have to look to produce their own players. There should be at least 2-3 of those progressing to the first team. All clubs have to try to find value for money players as well - take a punt on players who are not big names and are not proven at the highest level - like Vidic or Evra when signed. And if you spend big, the club should be acquiring star players who will give 5 or more years service. SAF rarely bought players at their peak (RvP was an exception). He bought top players, but they always had their best years ahead of them (Rio, Keane) - and they would be recruited at a time when they could be eased in and not expected to be stellar players from the outset. If he did make mistakes in the transfer market, the club managed because the overall transfer policy was sound. He didn't pay top price for half a dozen players at the same time desperate for them all to be successful, having been held to ransom over the price because the selling club could call all the shots.

    2. Utd should be playing attacking football. It's expected and the club has players who can play with pace and style. Why is a team with the pace of Martial and Depay and the guile and craft of Mata, Herrera, Carrick etc playing at walking pace and trying not to lose by retaining possession? SAF always went into games with the philosophy that Utd would win by as many goals as possible. Sometimes it seemed naive, but on many more occasions the approach filled the players with confidence and self belief because they knew how to create and take chances - nothing appeared to be a lost cause when goals could be scored so freely. Teams don't like being attacked - especially with pace. They'll sit deep all day and defend against slow, sideways football. When they've six players breaking at speed, overlapping full backs etc, it's a different proposition. A team with players of the calibre available should be playing the Utd way.

  13. I'm not barred from the Chelsea board.

Only the Gooner and 'Pool boards. They cannot take my sophisticated humour and incisive banter, see.

  15. No, I'm still permitted on there. I was only barred from the match-day thread.

    I don't know why, mind.

What do Swansea expect their manager to achieve? Constant improvement with no runs of poor form ever? Not going to happen, there are a lot of ambitious teams competing for upper midtable with them so let the man do his job and cut him some slack. They're not in the relegation zone, they're a point off the Champions and there's a long way to go in the season.

Pulled the trigger far too early again imo.
