Not that I think it is even remotely possible for us to win the league at this stage, but United, in their treble winning season, won the league with 79 points.
Yeah I know, as I said the other day. We would need to go on a 10 game winning run for me to even have the slightest bit of hope of anything trophy related (bar the CL), and I just dont see us capable of that at the moment
Didn't see the first half but we dominated play in the second half but failed to create much at all. We had corner after corner after corner, Bournemouth get one and score having barely had the ball all half!! Bloody typical and not the sort of thing we need right now. We've got more chance of going down than getting top 4 the way things are going! So it looks like either a new manager or a big cheque book for the new year!! Neither option particularly appealing but this is one hell of a fall from grace....
To be fair, no team looks capable of that at the moment. Liverpool's result yesterday being particularly typical of this season. We'll finish mid table this year. Top 4 is done.
Wishful thinking here mate. You'll have to improve to get into the mid table i.e 7-10. At the moment 15 points for 15 matches, if you continue the trend you'll finish on 38 points, which is not sufficient to get you up the table. The worrying thing for you is that you've not played that badly yet you are not collecting the points. And I am not sure where that improvement will come from. And like I said in an earlier post, I cannot see where your next 3 points will come from. Something which I didn't think i would be saying about your club.
Well we'll see I guess. At some point we are bound to string some results together. Like you say, we've not been playing that bad and a bit of luck and better application in the final third and results may turn a bit and enough to move up a few places. We've no chance of going on a top game winning streak or whatever it would take to get top 4 though.
Mourinho needs to get the players back on side sharpish as they simply aren't playing for him. He definitely needs Costa to buy back into the club in the short term, he can always **** him off next summer!
No offence but bollocks, this is football , sometimes you have a ****ty season, thankfully the rest of the division has been ****ing ****e apart from Leicester , KEEP THE FAITH
Blimey, if the rest has been ****e then what does this say about Chelsea? In fact that they are does not even affect your prospects...
That we have been ****e but the rest have also been ****e so that we are still in it? Christ its not rocket science dude.
If City get two points per game from now, which the way they're going I wouldn't consider likely, they'll have 75 points which is well below what normally wins it I think. Chelsea would need 60 points from 23 games to reach that.
There is another way of looking at it. The top 4 clubs have 32-29 points and 23 matches to play. While this is an unusual season, it is very unlikely (not impossible) that none of these 4 clubs will not continue or even improve on their current rate even if City stumble. The final number of points would be 77-78. The lowest winning total in recent times was 79. I would be very surprised if none of the top can achieve this. If that's the target, then Chelsea would need 62-63 points from 23 matches. This means at least 20 wins. And no more than 2 defeats. And If we assume the title is won on a low total, the top 4 will be extremely bunched and therefore the 4th will be very close to the winning total. The top 4 looks also out of reach unless Chelsea's run is even better than last season's.
