I really don't think we can win the prem this season. However, I had a chat with my reporter mate at lunchtime. He is of a different opinion (remember he's an avid manc). He said if we go on a run, we could do it. The reasons he gave me are as follows.

Manchester City: Clearly not the same team from the first 5 matches of the season, as you ably demonstrated, and Aguero may be out for a month.

Arsenal: Serious injury problems and lack of squad depth is a major issue.

Manchester United: We are **** and only where we are because the whole prem is ****e.

Chelsea: Just too far behind to have any chance of winning it.

Leicester City: Will blow up sooner or later, probably when they play you.

No mention of anyone else.

We're 6 points off top with a run of winnable games coming up. He's a gambling man and he's putting some serious money on us, as he thinks there's a genuine possibility. I'm not, but I'm going to have a fiver on it.

So do you share his views, or is it just 'unthinkable'?

6 behind and hitting decent form.... Injuries will play a big part though and I'd imagine the January window.

United, Arsenal, city and Chelsea could all go and spend 40m to top up their squads with quality where as we can't.

Spurs are are also in the mix, I'd put them level with us in terms of a chance, unbeaten in lad 13 in the league and only 1 defeat all season.

Very reliant on Kane but assuming he stays fit then no reason they can't push on.

is it possible, yes, will we win it, no

top 4 and a cup and i will stop kicking the pug when the mrs aint looking

We won't win it.......or will we??? <whistle>

I still think our squad is too thin in certain areas and lacks the consistency. Basically I think your reporter mate (like many rivals) is trying to push our credentials now to make JK look worse if we finish outside the top 4.

What he neglected to mention is City are still a bloody good team even if they are without Aguero (Silva's back anyway and he makes them tick). Spurs and Everton are flying right now, if they can keep their first teams relatively injury free they are both strong teams (not saying title challengers but their fans would feel as justified making the same argument).

United's football is turgid but they are getting results, he might discount them as a challenger but no way can we seriously do that at the moment. Arsenal know how to get results too.

Right now things are looking up so let's just enjoy it and hope the improvements keep coming :) The good thing is Klopp will have had time come January to assess the squad and won't be shooting blind when it comes to improving it.

Poch has them playing some good stuff, I was winding a Gooner up on the PL board but I am sorta serious in saying they could have a very good season.

Several articles from reporters online saying same thing.

It's possible we can win but still unlikely. Top 4 will be impressive and a very feasible goal.

It's still possible for Villa to win the league, its not going to happen though.

To put things into reality, Spurs have more chance than us <laugh>

I was assuming it was a euphemism for something else....

Let's not get carried away. We've had a decent run of a few games so unless you are squandering a few quid at the bookies on the eventual outcome of the league, take each game as it comes and see where we are at the end of the season.

Good runs have a habit of ending for sometime the most unusual of reasons. Look at the Chavs - champions last year, not far off the relegation now.
