Nobody understands like you do Treble. You've made that perfectly clear.

I could happily discuss and disagree with you about anything UIR if you actually tried to see it from the other person's viewpoint. But when you either choose to ignore (or indeed as it seems fail to understand bcos you're being obtuse) then what do you expect? I don't in any way consider myself as all-knowing, but you don't seem to understand what I'm getting at. Believe it or not, I don't post my point of view to pi55 you off. It's only what I believe or that I'm genuinely interested in the views of others. I may indeed get a bit "passionate" during matchday threads, but that's not an attack on anyone on here. It's not aimed at anyone except what I happen to think at the time. Why not simply accept that you disagree and move on? Why does it seem like I'm personally attacking you when I'm not. I've only once deliberately thrown an unprovoked shot across the bows of LVG supporters on a matchday thread. But in 99% of matchday threads I seem to give my opinion and then the lynch mob arrives.

Anyway, this thread sought to ask the question . Plenty have given a lot of food for thought and much of it has been good.

That United play dull football? A lot of people agree with that.

I don't think you, Astro and A87 all hold the same opinions. Just by the nature of the type of fans that you are its unlikely you will ever have the same opinion on a specific issue unless it's a negative opinion on Chelsea! You are however identical except for the clubs you support.

Oh its dull at times. You will find the disagreements are over whether or not we are rubbish and if van Gaal makes then play that way thougg, in general.

Were not rubbish and he almost certainly doesn't ask then to play that way. Me and Diego touched on it yesterday. He's far from blameless of course, but its November, what's he supposed to do? Play youngsters to freshen it up? Hes doing that. Change the formations, set up etc. He does that.

He could realistically win the league this season. Sure it would be ground out but it would give the players and club that winning mentality back and a platform to push on to even better things.

I don't buy into the fact that the players got together and decided to play negative football despite the manager asking them to be more positive. Surely the forward players and full backs would have objected. As it has gradually evolved this season, which player is responsible? Schweinsteiger?

Lukaku would be an excellent addition. Perfect age too. Kane would be too expensive but I think he is better than Lukaku. But what I like about Lukaku is his strength. He gives defenders hard times by playing over their shoulders.

Let Rooney go and invest in attacking wingers and solid forward. I wonder where Ronaldo fits in that picture if he does come.

Its a collective issue. Players and manager and one they need to address.

No one player is responsible, the manager isn't solely responsible. Football's a team game after all. Half the team is low on confidence though. Its blatantly obvious.

He's really grown into a cracking player. You could see it before but now he's made that step from potential to the real deal.

Why are they low on confidence?

Why are they ignoring the manager's instructions to play expansive, attacking football?

Stan, what did you think of United's style of play before we lost Luke Shaw?

Because they haven't been playing well at a guess. Its usually how it works.

Van Gaal doesn't get all the credit when they do play well. Why is that?

Very disobedient is Shaw. All those drivjng rubs, commintjng defenders, overlapping Memphis and creating the space.

He was clearly told to pass sideways and backwards. Like everyone else...

I'm going to assume this is a serious question.

My answer is, slightly more attacking from the left full back position. However, if the attacking play of a team that has spent a fortune on Depay, Mata, Martial and Herrera is dependent on a 20 year old left back being fit then I suspect there has been a lack of planning. I think if a City fan said that their negative style of play was down to Clichy or Kolarov being injured we'd probably point at them and laugh.
