Just a really quick forum post to ask for all of you that can to please attend this game on Saturday as you probably (hopefully) will have heard about Joshua Fell? 15 year old lad from Hornsea who passed away from SAD's syndrome after playing football and he was a huge Hull City fan, good mate of mine... his funeral was also on Look North all Hull City Colours... but anyway the point of this is that there is going to be a Minutes Applause for Josh and i'd love as much city fans to be there as possible

Cheers. UTT

I won't be there on Saturday unfortunately due to work commitments, but Josh will still be in my thoughts Saturday afternoon. Well done to the club for arranging something to honour Josh's memory and support for the club.

Morning all,

It seems like the game on Saturday has attracted some attention with a bumper crowd expected for the visit of our illustrious Premier League opposition.

For Hull, this is the only real test of pre-season having so far pitted our skills against mediocre non-league sides, a chance for the squad to show what they can do against a higher quality of opposition.

Liverpool return from their tour, buoyed by some entertaining football, plenty of goals and some high profile signings to boost their squad ahead of the new campaign.

With the countdown to the new season fast approaching, both sets of fans will feel reason to be optimistic in their respective campaigns and it will be interesting to see how this optimism develops over the course of the next 8 months.

So what are we expecting from Saturday? Will Liverpool be showing off their array of talent and multi million pound summer signings or we will be subjected to a second string of youth players? Will the respective managers show the fans what they are likely to go with come the time the real football starts?

All thoughts, comments and debate welcome!

With the amount of Liverpool fans booked in at the Kc I expect King Kenny to play all his FIT stars and new signings.
I would have liked to have seen Suarez play but sadly he is away with Uruguay getting ready for Copa America Cup Final. Charlie Adam will be a good watch. Dont care about the result just as long as Hull City give it there best shot.
For those with sky sports package then you can watch the game again and again and again all week long on sky channel 434 LFC TV.

I hope the Scousers put out a full team but, even if they don't, will NP put out our best - to give them chance to bed in together. Here's hoping! <ok>

So far we've used most of our squad in friendlies. We put out a completely different 11 at half time, so you'll probably get chance to play our whole squad at some point.

Hopefully this one will be a good game.

gulasci is decent but you guys need to toughen him up a bit more. tranmere was good for himbut a full year at hull will make a real player of him.

I reckon Charlie Adam lied on his birth certificate, looks a lot older than hes is, great player though and looking forward to seeing him if he's there, though think Harper or Mckenna will have him in their back pockets

I can see us narrowing it down to the first team players bar maybe the odd exception for this game, there's no way he'll field the XI that'll start against Blackpool though.
Presumably this game and the Bradford match will use the following 22 players:

Gulacsi
Atkinson Hobbs Chester Dawson
Koren McKenna Cairney Brady
Fryatt Adebola

Basso
East McShane Bradley Dudgeon
Devitt Evans Harper Kilbane
McLean Simpson

With Oxley, Barmby, Emerton, Bennett and Townsend making sub appearances at some point perhaps.

Does anyone know when Rosenior is expected to be involved again? He did an interview recently saying he was looking forward to getting a full pre-season unlike last year, so he must be coming back soon? :S

Not a bad shout. Liam told Burnsie that he hopes to play on saturday at somepoint against Liverpool.

That's lovely news. In that case take East or Atkinson out of my team and replace with Rosenior. Not sure which mind you, East looked impressive at Ferriby.

I'd expect to see Downing, Henderson and Johnson second half, we have 4 friendlies left including this one so Kenny won't be desperate to link everyone who is first team material

Imagine he will play Aquilani, Adam, Kuyt, Maxi and Carroll together to start figuring out a balance for our first proper game, so could be a fairly strong line-up. Still going to be practically 2 different teams each half though
