19th November 2015 Reds maintain interest in Jorginho Napoli look set to keep Jorginho this winter after it emerged the midfielder's direct competition, Mirko Valdifiori, could be sold instead. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all reported suitors of 23-year-old Jorginho. He has beaten off Valdifiori, 29, for a place in Napoli's starting XI since the latter's arrival from Empoli in the summer. It was thought the Naples side would be willing to offload Jorginho onto one of three Premier League suitors, safe in the knowledge they had Valdifiori as back-up. But Valdifiori's agent has revealed that a number of clubs, including Palermo, are seeking to sign his client come January and that a move could happen. “Valdifiori isn’t just liked by Palermo,” Mario Giuffredi told Radio Crc. “I must say that it’s not just them who have contacted me, but at least three or four Italian teams. “We’re not used to doing things by halves, so our idea is to stay at Napoli, because Mirko wants to gain a starting spot. “At the moment Valdifiori is the alternative to Jorginho, but he doesn’t feel that way. We’ve chosen Napoli, and we intend to pursue it. “January is a time of reflection for everyone - for us, for Napoli - but in our heads we’re not thinking about leaving or questioning the choices we made this summer. “I’ll have to do some talking in private, but we won’t take Valdifiori away from Napoli.” Despite agent Giuffredi's insistence that Valdifiori won't be sold, Napoli themselves may choose to cash in on a player barely used so far this season. It is understood their main aim is to keep Jorginho and maintain their pursuit of the Serie A title. Fiorentina currently lead the table alongside Inter Milan on 27 points, with Roma (26) and Napoli (25) making up the chasing pack. Jorginho has made 12 appearances for the club this season and has been central to their push in the league. His performances have reportedly alerted United and Arsenal to his possible availability, while Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is said to be keen. But Jorginho's agent has also been talking and insists all is well at Napoli. "Offers from England? That's a question for Cristiano Giuntoli [Napoli sporting director], not me," Joao Santos told Radio Crc. "Certainly he's doing well, so it's normal that he'd arouse the interest of the big teams. "I don't know if Napoli are planning to conduct any negotiations. "If there are teams following him it's obviously because they think Jorginho would be helpful to their cause. "I've talked with Giuntoli by telephone, not just to talk about a renewal, but also to improve the lad's situation. "As for a renewal, if Napoli want to talk, we're ready to discuss it soon." Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, 42, has been offered a £10m deal to manage in the Middle East. (Sunday Express) Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, 62, says he would pick the same XI that lost 4-1 at home to Liverpool again. (Manchester Evening News
Surely he'll pick the exact same XI next game then? Or does he mean given injuries and obviously Kompany and Silva will replace the player's he'd definitely "choose" again if he had the same lack of choice? And why did he sub 2 at half time? Picked up injuries in the dressing room? #sortyourstoryout
Maybe Chelsea are waiting for....................'The return of Rafa' to save their sorry asses (again)
InKlippertyKloppWeTrust lives with Grobelaar. I cant help but question how these old players know. I reckon he is guessing.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit mr.squarefoot that applies to the Lucas comment on the match thread as well!
Jurgen Klopp wants to replace Simon Mignolet at Liverpool, according to former goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar. Grobbelaar, who made 440 league appearances in 13 years at Anfield, does not believe Mignolet is of a good enough standard to play for Liverpool and says he has a better goalkeeper at Ottawa Fury, where he is currently a coach. "I've had my criticism of Mignolet for two or three years, I even got pulled in and asked not to criticise him so openly," Grobbelaar told talkSPORT. Kevin De Bruyne: Jose Mourinho stopped Jurgen Klopp move Kevin De Bruyne has revealed an intervention from Jose Mourinho stopped him signing for Jurgen Klopp in the summer of 2013. De Bruyne lines up for Manchester City against Klopp's Liverpool on Saturday Night Football as English football's second-most expensive player following a £54.5m move from Wolfsburg. But the Belgium forward's career would have followed a different path had he moved to Borussia Dortmund, then under Klopp's control, shortly after Mourinho's second coming at Chelsea. Instead he was persuaded to stay at Stamford Bridge, only to start just five times before he was sold to Wolfsburg the following January. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, De Bruyne said: "I had a personal agreement [with Klopp]. I asked to go because I had a good feeling about Dortmund at the time. He called me, and said 'You will be the No 1'. "At the time I thought it was a good decision to go but the manager [Jose Mourinho] told me 'You need to stay and you will get your chance here'. I accepted it and we moved on."
Ready to Disco.. we're getting Isco.... Actually, not really.. Lazy wannabe ITK's on Twatter linking him with a few PL clubs in the assumption he hands in a transfer request... If available, do we go for him, think the lad is quality, we now have the manager that could attract that calibre player as well.. But where would he play? Assuming we go with Ford, Firmino and a Striker? Does he take Lalinho's role (would be an upgrade..) Do we invest elsewhere in Jan if at all...
