another good signing by pardew i think most people could see from the first game that seaborne wasnt good enough.
Even the Exeter fans didn't seem to mind when Seaborne left them! In all fairness he tries his best but he just hasn't impressed.
Seaborne's not a bad player but he's not any better than League 1 level. Jaidi is a mountain of a man but I worry about his pace and Martin has very little experience. Fonte and Jemal (if he is coming) will probably be the pairing.
Here we go again, so what in particular has Seabourne done to incur the wrath of some fans? He's a league one defender who was signed to play for us in league one, but really only when the first choice players were not fit or suspended. He never got a run of games to establish himself and clearly was behind Fonte & Jaidi in the pecking order.
He's not a bad League 1 defender and I don't slate him all game like some. He needs to learn to play it simple sometimes instead of lumping it (accurately most of the time) onto Lambert's head. Good squad player but wouldn't last 5 mins in the Championship.
Anyway, back on-topic to Jemal...a couple of Youtube videos Looks like Rickie will have competition for free-kicks!
I've got nothing against Seaborne, of course he hasn't played in the championship yet but from what I saw last season im just not a fan of his. He could well be demoted to 5th choice centre back, or he could be competing for a place in the first team. I guess the squad on the 6th of August will give us some answers!
sorry seabourne hasnt offended but just havent had confidence in him, he came on at 1-0 up away at yeovil and i turned and said to person sat next to me we will concede and itl be his fault - cue giving away a needless penalty. he just looks a bit clumsy and as has been mentioned a bit too hoofball sometimes. just a little bit out of his depth perhaps, its gonna be one of those things we get used to - as our squad improves some players will fall out of the picture and its just unfortunate No.3 on that list may seem to be seabourne (behind JP of course...oh and fish.)
If this signing does go through then I'd probably place Seabourne as 5th choice centre-back 1. Fonte 2. Jemal 3. Martin 4. Jaidi 5. Seabourne I'd still like to see him kept hold of though as he is still young, possibly loan him out to a League One club that can give him first team football so he can get a bit more experience under his belt?
nah im sure he may get sold - or a season loan or something as i think we all know jaidi will be for the big hoof teams, and martin will get the occasional run out / cover for injuries
I think centre back is number one priority over a new striker. Lambert will do the business up front, but we need a young decent cb, can't expect Aaron Martin to slot straight into a championship team
Saint Lambden good find, nice to see a defender with striker instincts. Looks like he could get a few from defence, I always like to see CB scoring goals and with Fonte getting a few last season we could be very dangerous from set-pieces!!
No mate there are lots of fans that go to the games that rate him but don't come on here. Its a shame when a younger player is slated for no particular reason. Its mainly the youngsters on here that seem to want to drum up a campaign against him. If he wasn't rated by the management why was he given 3 1/2yr deal? I wouldn't like the thought of Martin or Jaidi as the only back up to a new CB. This Jemal sounds like a good prospect but is he proven in the championship ? Is it a risk too far to take. I would prefer if we are splashing out £1.3 mil we got a well known championship player.
