Thought we played well. Not best in last 2 years though but get your point.
We need to keep NW because they are playing for him. Did you see all the committed tackles which were non existent under Benny.
Don't blame Fer for what he did as we would have all moaned if they had scored. He was back battling and defending.
Boro are a good team and if we had a decent striker on the pitch believe we would have beaten them. We are not far off being a good side in the division.
Give the job to NW and let him bring in some fresh faces in Jan.

This is a poor division and still believe we can put a run together.
    Don't give up just yet.
    You R's!

I said a similar thing about the first half performance against Preston. The same set of players who couldn't retain possession for more than two passes under Ramsey can now roll it around with style and confidence. The main difference is Ale Faurlin of course who is constantly giving those around him an option. The defence is also now very well organised (although that change was already coming under Ramsey). Where we are obviously still lacking is in any kind of attacking thrust - where was Hoilett last night? Anyhow, despite the fact that he has taken only 1 point from 6, didn't even make it to the game last night and has said that he doesn't even want the job, Warnock is the obvious choice for permanent manager IMO although I very much doubt our owners see it the same way.

The best aspect for me was the spell when we bossed the midfield in the early second half. It seems like a long time since we've had a spell where we've dominated in the centre like that. We had players dropping in and forming triangles and they even moved up to the edge of the opposition box as a unit.

I don't think it's a coincidence that it was Faurlin's best spell but Fer was looking better then too.

What I've posted on the Report match thread.

My view from watching sky last night is rather different to a lot of postings on this thread!

How many of you expected that we would get a point away to a team near the top of the division? The fact is that we mainly controlled the match & were far better organised than I have seen from us for years!

Of course, it wasn't a spectactular match, but we opened Middlesbrough up more than they managed to achieve. In the second half the team produced three excellent pieces of football that led to two chances for Phillips & one for Fer. Indeed, you will not see a better pass all season than the ball from Faurlin. I thought Ale had a poor first half but was controlling the match in the second half.

IF he had to go off, Luongo would have been a far better choice to bring on. The removal of Sandro was even more questionable.

Was the handball from Fer needed? IMO YES. That shot was beyond the dive of Green (no blame attached to him for that) & the choice was a definite goal, or a sending off with a (slight) chance of gaining a point.

My questions on the goal would centre around Perch losing comtrol of the ball & this leading to the corner. It then became only the second ball that Boro won in our penalty area all game. The other being when Green went walkabout! If Perch had to be in the team, I believe it would have been better if he had played in front of Henry. That way we would have had better defending from the right back position (Henry) & Perch may have offered us more going forward.

However, our second half superiority ended the moment we removed Faurlin & Sandro (my man of the match & I don't like him!).

Jimmy Floyd has a platform from which he can work with!

Of course, your perspective on last night will be different if you still had delusions of gaining promotion this season!

Not delusions terry but a play off place is possible with the right management. We have lost a lot of ground under Benny but still plenty of games/points. This division is really poor and history has proven that you can be near bottom at xmas and get promoted.
Still think we have a good team but we need to start scoring and winning games.

The last time I remember when he saved one was from Sanchez against Arsenal last December at the Emirates.

We seemed to have a game plan for a change and stuck to it, it nearly worked, progress...

Not really-We won 3 out of the first 7 games and got knocked out the league cup by the mighty Carlisle, that was the most promising it got as it got worse after that.

We haven't had a decent defence since Warnock last got us promoted. That year the defence in the premiership was poor and we have never addressed it. Hall looks good so that is one positive.

20 odd goals and seven scored by Austin. Do we have any other decent strikers who can get us goals if he is injured. Emmamuel-Thomas, Polter, Mackie and Blackwood are the other strikers on the books but how good are they? Warnock plays Phillips upfront last night so maybe that that tells us the answer?

Much better overall performance last night with more pressing and tackling than many of our matches this season, bar the last 10 minutes when we played far too deep

When JET came on he kept moving back into the middle of our half, allowing the entire Boro defence to stay on the half way line

Good to see our defence tightening up BUT can we please score a few goals?? It was our away form (only 7 points) that sunk us last season

I was surprised at the poor crowd (our own following was small but the distance for a game on Friday night TV was key, albeit I was back home in East Herts by 0145 thanks to the light traffic) - surely with Boro near the top of the table their fans would be wanting to attend their games?

just watched this on sky this morning - thought we were really well organised. The Hall and Onohua pairing in the middle looks good. Was very surprised to see Phillips up front when JET was on the bench - that really didn't seem to make much sense. ANd when i saw Henry out on the right i wasn't hopeful - however they all acquitted themselves very well, really competitive performance. Getting done in the last minute though after playing well was always on the cards. Utterly galling. They've started to look like a team anyway - For me I think Pearson should be the man to come in to finish the job.

We need a bit of this - OBZ strikes again. Played the opening 65 mins - sounds like he was Bobby on the spot:-

Brighton stretched their unbeaten start in the Championship to 17 games as they drew with Burnley at Turf Moor.

Bobby Zamora put the visitors in front from close range on 58 seconds after Tomer Hemed's shot hit the bar.

Andre Gray equalised from the penalty spot three minutes later, his 11th goal of the season, after Lewis Dunk pulled Michael Keane's shirt.

Certainly one of those players who has got a new lease of life since moving on from us

Great to see him scoring, albeit hopefully he leaves his shooting boots behind when we play Brighton!

Far more have left and barely, if ever, played again. Where do you expect the likes of Traore to be next season?

He was never **** , you dnt rise through as a youth player in France ( france national team at all youth levels ) end up at Monaco then bought by Arsenal and be **** , was he **** when Arsenal bought him btw ??? Nope he wasn't

He is one in a long list that had the stuffing knocked out of them . If you are lacking a bit of confidence dnt expect to get it back with us .

Lacking confidence? The bloke had the most pampered career possible playing on pristine pitches in barely competitive youth and reserve fixtures. That was the problem- he lacks/lacked any sort of mental strength. He looked a good player in youth football and in academy because he's quick and has a smidge of ability. If he wasn't **** when Arsenal bought him he was certainly **** by the time he left.
