Just putting my views on the table. Take note specifically referred to you as a person, because that's what you are. You choose the religious label, that was your choice. Me, my only faith is with humanity. I find it very unnerving that we have several belief systems that encourage passing the blame. Usually to a make believe chap in a cloud. People do many things in the name of these deity's, sometimes good but often bad. And people say its only a few with warped versions of a book(s) that are purposefully written to be interpreted however you like. Every person will have a slightly different belief and that creates problems, division, hatred and eventually conflict. Which is exactly what thousands of years of history has shown. Have some faith in your fellow man for once.
Tbh why pointless friendlies were given the go ahead was daft anyway. Spain and Belgium is already off, now Germany's game. I understand its to send a message but for the sake of a pointless friendly game? Don't get it. Imagine an attack happened at Wembley tonight. Talking about it on the news. Whether Brit Cops have the capability to deal with an attack like in Paris. No automatic weapons etc.
Odd. No news source seems to know why. Very last second evacuation. I wonder if credible threat or just a looney calling in a bomb threat.
Paris... A year ago... http://www.cbsnews.com/news/muslims-in-france-protest-against-extremism/ For some ppl, the muslim community will never be able to do enough. Or perhaps it's the fact that this sort of stuff simply doesnt make headline news. There are plenty of other examples btw. Very few by mainstream British press. Aim your cannons that way perhaps??? http://m.londonlovesbusiness.com/bu...rch-in-london/9163.article?mobilesite=enabled http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/7680582 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/6279416.stm http://news.yahoo.com/merkel-join-german-muslim-rally-tolerance-054541943.html This one's a real beauty Be careful where you rally against terrorism... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ers-descend-DC-protest-Muslim-9-11-rally.html
People aren't taking chances, well except the various FA and uefa lol. Have you seen the video of the day after in Paris, people are petrified. Any suggestion of an attack is likely to lead to a panic. If they were to hit inside a stadium packed to capacity, as they intended in Paris, well the initial explosion wouldnt be the biggest killer. The panic and crush would.
No doubt. I'm not saying they should take chances... But what are the odds this turns out to be some teenager having a laugh.
I do think there's a certain irony in this thread, as Spurlock has resented the association that people have made between IS and his religion. He's taken it as a personal slight, maybe in fairness, he's had plenty of ignoramouses aiming anti Muslim sentiment towards him and his faith over the years and is sick to the back teeth of it. But his attitude on this thread has been to defend himself and his religion as if we were attacking the peace loving Muslims who live their lives in this country as British citizens, and no-one (that I've seen) was doing that at all. He however has made some strong comments about white Brits and their lifestyle, while supposedly defending himself from something that hasn't happened here. He's therefore lumping even handed white Brits passing comment about these radical extremists, into the same envelope as bone headed skinheads, who we'd all happily chuck in a skip!
They don't have anything else available for emergency use? A couple decades ago I remember departing Manchester airport and seeing automatic weapons on airport cops.
Only semi automatic weapons as far as I am aware. However a number of raids have uncovered automatic weapons being shipped into Britain. Were not very well prepared here at all. We would have to bring in the army very quickly, if not immediately.
A periods of high alert there's armed police highly visible at the major airports, for the rest of the time they're less conspicuous but still available
I'm not in favour of a highly militarised police force but I do think resources need to be available for emergencies.
Of course they do. That's even if you ignore the fact that it's not just going to be the police around Wembley tonight.
