For me, the answer to fighting these fundamentalist lunatics has to come from within Islam itself. We are infidels, even to some otherwise reasonably tolerant Muslims, and so what we say is not going to carry any weight.

I also think that there are many 'ordinary' Muslims who would like to speak out. They obviously know that their silence will be construed as complicity by many non Muslims. However, I think we have also to remember that these fanatics control people through extreme violence, implied, threatened, and actual.

Just as in Northern Ireland, many people are too frightened too say what they really think for fear of the possible repercussions to themselves and their families.

Isn't it enough that we get told on Friday sermons about these very matters and if we suspect something then we should report it to the authorities?

How many families can't believe that their own child decided to flee the country and join ISIS? You and I have seen them being interviewed and dumbfounded as to why...because Muslim households certainly don't preach such behaviour as far as I know. Therefore it is very difficult to find these people. It certainly does not happen in the mosques I frequent...And I certainly don't know of any other Muslims who have had this experience.

Maybe the authorities could do a better job of working with the communities and openly introducing some kind of avenue. They don't seem very forthcoming...set up agencies and offices etc....make it an open thing..that we are working together. I don't know of anyone who would not be willing to help.

When will people accept that it is not just a Muslim problem as most Muslims themselves are against all this...it is the problem of anyone who does not believe in what ISIS believe. I know absolutely zero Muslims who have time for ISIS..who have used Islam and as a result tainted it's name further, not hat the haters ever needed any help.

We do not openly know where these cells are, anyone who is fanatical and an idiot and is having these meetings in order to organise these conflicts..is not having them in my house or any other Muslim household. They do it out of the way..so much so that families do not know what their kids are doing until they wake up one day to find them missing.

This Muslim/non Muslim thing is where the problem lies....we are supposed to integrate and get vilified if we don't...yet it's our problem. To be honest I'm kind of glad it's only the public that has that perspective because if it was the govt who thought that then we are in trouble from every angle.

There is no other God but Allah:laugh:...and Mohammed was his only messenger ...Jesus cannot be the son of God because God never married
and cannot have a son. ALL others are INFIDELS and they must be converted either peacefully or by force,

Surely not everyone who is approached by these radical groups is converted to the ISIS way of thinking. Therefore they should be informed on by the first person they approach who they fail to radicalise. A very simplistic theory but not an illogical one.

Sums up your hidden agenda well. You show me anywhere it says that and bring with it its context. The paragraphs that go before and after your claim. When it was said and documented. What state of affairs the Muslims were under etc etc.

Until then You need to shut the **** up because you have no right to incite.

Maybe...so when it happens to me or I find out that it has happened to anyone else then it would get reported. I can honestly say I have never come across such a group or individual.

No doubt I speak for many others.

I suspect they usually feel your mentality before the grooming starts if your just someone who in his daily life doesn't get involved with politics...then you are further down the ladder than someone who was once heard talking about something suspect..that person is a better target. Whoever recruits is not stupid. I find it naive that a lot of people think you get these recruiters walking around random mosques picking out targets. The web is discreet.

Isn't it slightly ironic though that whenever something like this happens then Western media and people in general use terms similar to 'our lifestyle' 'way of life' 'western civilisation and ideals' have been attacked. Yet such an act seems to give a lot of people the right to absolutely and totally dissect any aspect of Islam and it always comes down to 'how they treat their women'

I can show you 10 women who are happy with Islam and its teachings to the one some documentary has managed to pluck out to say that she is oppressed. Don't get me wrong..I'm sure some are forced. However once again that is not Islam, it is interpretation. I can also show you plenty British females who don't think their culture is all that either...and how their men are pissheads, single British mothers I know who think the kids dad is a **** because was shagging someone else The amount of single Brit females I know that are quite frankly sluts..etc etc, I'm all for putting the blame on western culture...not nice though is it if your the British person who isn't like that and is tarnished with that brush. I also know of western people that don't drink as a lifestyle choice and that is always seen with a raised eyebrow by fellow white people. I think these people are just as bad as those that blow themselves up in the name of something they don't actually believe in. Because given half the chance I'm sure they would happily start lynching their own people who are not agreeing with their British culture, they just don't have the means. That is why it flows out of their remarks so easily once they think they have an excuse once again to dissect Islam starting with some women issues because the British culture is always big with their PC bullshit...yet they don't see their hypocrisy.

We could go toe to toe everyday of our lives..but I know for a fact this is not going to get solved. The terrorists are just these same people who talk rubbish about hating and seeing Islam as a threat in the British culture. One has guns , the other is, well British, to want for a better phrase..you know..the type that historically thinks it is at the forefront of everything that people should be like. Thats why they have been obsessed with colonising and white collar pillaging for centuries. It is in their blood to tell the rest of the world how to live...even when they actually haven't got a clue as to what makes people happy...because they don't know the positive realities of any other culture but their own.

So I don't think women in Islam has got anything to do with terrorism. If you asked the 1.7 billion Muslims in this world what is female oppression..they would say...sexualisation of women and how tragic it is that the western women have bought into it...but you see it as freedom. So like I said we could go toe to toe forever.

Bullshit to think it's ok to start ripping into Islam as a faith just because ,it's the latest bad flavour of the month...you see how the animosity is created on a minors scale by being isolated as a group of people and how over years and decades that can escalate into what is happening now.

In response to me seeing this escalating into a burka issue with some threads, pathetic.

I shouldn't worry too much, feller. From what I've just seen on the news, the media, and in particular the Murdoch/Mail/BBC axis, they are going to make this all about Corbyn, just as they did with the Remembrance period. Just like they showed their 'respect' for our fallen servicemen and women by turning Poppy day into a 24 hour Corbyn-bashing fest, so the crocodile tears for the victims of Paris turns into a river of bile to swamp the hapless, over-promoted geography teacher.

Pass the sickbag. :emoticon-0119-puke:

He's getting angry at the wrong people for starters. Were discussing Islam and the part it plays. He should be angry at those tarnishing Islam in his and every other Muslims name.

But this is how resentment of the west is born. Until he can accept that there are elements of and within Islam that are a threat, to us all.

Except he could turn round and say you're getting angry at the wrong people for starters. You should be angry at those tarnishing the West in your and every other Westerner's name.

But this is how resentment of muslims is born. Until you can accept that there are elements of and within the West that are a threat, to us all.

Exodus

24:16And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him:

In other words, criticise my religion or say something negative about it and you're supposed to be stoned to death. God commands it.

No greater blasphemy to the Church than following another religion.

That was definitely what he was saying, don't even attempt to pass comment on our religion and way of life....

Sorry, but that's not how it works. Events like this will always bring a focus on Islamic beliefs and their way of life. That doesn't have to be a bad thing either, as it's an opportunity for them to set straight some misconceptions that Westerners might have about their life choices. I'm not sure he came at that from the right angle though....

That's a tad disingenuous fella. On the one hand you want him to use the opportunity to set some misconceptions straight that Westerners like you have. Then, when he does, you either dont listen, or worse still rubbish them.

He's the sole muslim on a website straight after a terrible attack carried out by ppl who claim to believe in the same religion as him. All he's ever maintained is that regardless of what they say, they dont represent his faith. He's supported that with first hand experience as a muslim, making him arguably the most knowledgable person on here to do so. And he's doing this on this, andd numerous threads, on his own as a muslim. And in response ppl arent listening and some are using it as a way of taking out their dislike of ISIS against him.

A bit of reconciliation in dialogue wouldnt go amiss tbh. I think you'll find each other far more reasonable once that happens.

... And whilst I'm quoting the bible... Turn to Ezekiel if you will.

Ezekiel 23-24
"There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses."

Nothing to do with terrorism. I just like that quote.

I've had many women say that about me too tbh

Don't normally post on these boards, just have a wonder and brief read about varying degrees of opinions on Arsenal and so forth. But I have to admit so many bigots come out of their wood work on social media and so on, when something like this happens, sadly innocent people on both sides suffer but we seem to mourn and think western life is worth more than those pesky Muslim's in those countries, where we drop the bombs, train/arm the rebels (until they go against the west), use drones and back countries who have a open prison (Palestine) and create mass refugees but that's not a problem or a reason why people turn to extremism oh no its the teaching of Islam.

We should not just mourn and show outrage for the innocents of one side because they are killed by ISIS and forget the others because they are killed by West or our friendly rebels.

There were some opinions going around that Muslim's should be all grouped together in one area of the UK, like it was in WW2 for Nazi supporters until ISIS have been dealt with or they should go back to their ancestral countries! I mean seriously? second, third and fourth generations don't belong here they say and at the same rate complain Muslim's don't integrate? I mean really how does one integrate and become part of Britain? Also what about the Muslim's that are not of the "Brown Skin" but are born and bred English, do the become foreign as well as soon as they change their faith or non-faith to faith? On the note of integration, does that mean all American's, Australian, Kiwi's and so on who haven't changed their life style to the same way as the natives they should go back to their ancestral lands? I hope not otherwise UK, would have a massive problem housing them!

I also get irritated when people say our forefathers fought for our freedom and made the country what it is today not for the Muslim's to come and take over, if recall correctly the Muslim's fought for this country too sacrificing their lives and settled here with their families and others were invited to come and build the infrastructure after the WW2 in UK, now all of their family, kids, grand kids and so on are un-welcome because they happen to be Muslim's.
you cannot boast about freedom of choice and free to live as you will for law abiding citizens and then complain they are not like us, they live differently, dress differently and have alien faith, don't forget once upon a time Christianity was Alien here too, most of the ones that say they are the natives, you will find their ancesters have emigrated here from elsewhere at some stage.

To criticise the Church (any church or mosque) or it's congregation, is not the same as "blaspheming against God."

By the way, I watched, on Saturday evening, the BBC coverage of the Paris atrocities, and I was both dumbfounded and saddened by the extent to which the BBC was pushing the "let's go and bomb Syria, now!" card. It was utterly disgraceful.

I know one veciferous poster on here with his crocodile tears for the parisian victims, who was saying "tough ****" 15 months ago when 1800 innocent palestinian men, women and children were getting bombed by Israeli extremists while our government turned a blind eye. Now that same poster is pretending to care about the Paris victims. Some will use this as an opportunity to vent their prejudices rather than any real interest in the victims in all this.

The trouble is, that while we continue to take the same approach, make the same mistakes, have the same obtuse, narrow-mindedness to this mess, we are doomed to repeat it <ok>

Blasphemy is anything that goes against God. So yes. Criticising God or a church is blasphemy.

Per wiktionary:

Blasphemy is the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for (a) God(s)

My quoting the "donkey dick" verse for a laugh is technically blasphemy. <ok>

There used to be a mosque in the UK that was funded by Saddam back in the 80's and as a result was called The Saddam Hussain mosque. By sheer coincidence I think it was completed and opened just at the time of the Gulf war <laugh> <doh> At which point the local community bricked it. I dont think that was blasphemous tbf :bandit:

I think any religious fantatic is a dangerous freak, whether he is a ISIS rebel or a Texan survivalist; and I think that any Church that encourages its congregation to kill anyone, especially in the name of God, is an abomination.

Now, tell me that I have blasphemed.
