No doubt they have to jump through a few hoops now and again but then as do most now. The anger should be directed elsewhere though, not at Great British Sluts and pub goers. He, like many Muslims and quite a few non Muslims seems to believe in the idea that you cannot discuss Islam though and that doing do is an attack on Islam and all Muslims.
His beef from the off was the mere association between IS and Islam, as he feels that it is not part of the religion that he knows. Which is fair enough and he wants his community to be disassociated from them. However, they definitely DO associate themselves with Islam, so just bleating about us making that obvious and straighforward link, is ridiculous. Today he's gone on the front foot and made some random and quite offensive comments.
That was definitely what he was saying, don't even attempt to pass comment on our religion and way of life.... Sorry, but that's not how it works. Events like this will always bring a focus on Islamic beliefs and their way of life. That doesn't have to be a bad thing either, as it's an opportunity for them to set straight some misconceptions that Westerners might have about their life choices. I'm not sure he came at that from the right angle though....
I certainly didn't mean it in a like for like situation. My point was I've been and many others I know are written off for these things or not participating in them. This results in a lack of integration, apparently. Having gone through this for a few decades now as a British Muslim. It leaves the same bad taste in ones mouth as does the 'your all terrorists' rubbish. After a few years of that..it does deflate people. **** I even married a white British lady...that didn't help either..half her mates stopped talking to her Apologies for the confusions my long posts may have caused. At times the wording isn't brilliant due to having a 100 issues all pouring out. End of the day like I keep on repeating. In ISIS eyes I'm a dead man too. On top of that we have to prove since 9/11 on a regular basis that no we are not barbaric and we live normal lives too... UIR might want to think it's a crock of ****, that's because it's easier to.
I read some article the other day comparing the wider Muslim community (the non nutters) to the Germans around the 1930's. Where only 10% of the population were nazis. The rest of the country were a silent majority and just let it all happen. This is the conversation I had with my Muslim mate at the weekend. I think it seems to the vast majority of the western world that the Islamic world don't seem that arsed to try and stop it. They don't seem to want to stamp fundamentalism out. My mate disagreed but had nothing to back it up. Because not a fat lot is done by Muslim countries. We don't see huge rallies and protests to stop these fundamentalists using their religion to carry out massacres in its name. None of the armies of Muslim countries trying to do anything. The other thing that bothers me, which again I brought up with my mate, is what goes on in mosques.. As we all hear these reports that kids are being recruited in the mosques and have hate filled bile preached at them.. Well my question is how the **** is that allowed to happen? If I were part of the nazi party or EDF or NF, would I be able to pop into my local parish church and start preaching to the congregation? Course I couldn't. The only one doing any preaching is a vicar. The only times you can use the church for something other than a service is they may have tea and cake mornings. So how can these mosques allow some randoms to stand their and do what we are being told they do? I stand to be educated on this point as I know nothing about it. I've met our local immam who was one of the nicest people I've come across.
I'm always sceptical of a teetotaler, and in his book that made me akin to a suicide bomber....that tipped me tbh.
No one said that...I've been discussing since Saturday...welcome to the ****ing party. What I won't do is say it's Islam..ill say it's these people and their bastardisation, they are the threat. im done with it.quite frankly it's not my problem to educate you on the finer details of a Islam.
To be fair. IS is as close to mainstream religion as the KKK is to Christianity. IS is absolutely a religious institution as the KKK is, the Spanish Inquisition was, the JDL is . Most Muslims would want to distance themselves from IS. Most Christians would want to distance themselves from KKK. Most Jews would want to distance themselves from the JDL. Most Atheists would want to distance themselves from Stalin's regime.
I think you tagged in the wrong bloke mate. If it's bum fun you're after then @InKlippertyKloppWeTrust is your man
Milky, you might want to change your on-site name to "Broke Back Mountain Man," and see what develops. Just a thought.
Na not buying it Spurlock. Having read most of the posts on here there are very few anti muslim posters. Most have had the wit to attempt to separate those that have and accept cultural differences, some based on religion but live together under the rule of law and those that think they can use violence against others that don't accept their point of view. There has been an attempt to understand the nuances within islam that as an outsider to the religion I for one don't understand. I have personally questioned those that although not violent themselves harbour sympathies with those that do commit attrocities. I believe it is a community reponsibility to root these people out..because we can. I am from Northern Ireland. The same circumstances prevailed here. All were white, all used christianity as (part of) an excuse to commit attrocities. Most of the population deplored it but enough of the population held enough sympathies without acting themselves to allow these monsters to live among them. Long Before they started singling out bearded people at airports they singled out those from here. Anyone with our accent was a possible terrorist. But guess what! I didnt mind. My countrymen had murdered innocent people on the mainland. An extra half hour at the airport or dodgey looks (sometimes abuse) when we talked was the price to pay collectively for exporting the madness outside and that we as a community didn't stop fast enough. Some of our poitical leaders still sound exactly like the radical muslim leaders and belong in the dark ages. We too are still a state that old religious men believe they have the right to determine what women do with their bodies based on a tatty old book written by nutters and opportunists. There are those that see alcohol and sex as evil. (Try finding a lap dance bar in Belfast lol) I truly don't give a stuff what a muslim women wears as long as it is her choice. Plenty of evangelicals over here dress conservatively. And the same goes for all the views on how to act. Its when these men...always men..decide I'm subhuman and attempt to make laws based on their own cultural slant that i will defy and call out. I don't care if those zealots are home grown like some of DUP nutbags or imported like radical Islam. You can hold your views of women dressed provocatively thats a liberal democracy for you...as you say its not a view isolated to those from the Muslim community but others like me can disagree with that cultural view be it you or an evangelical christian spouting it. It doesn't mean i hate you or see you as less than an equal citizen. I understand your resentment with generalisations and yes, there are some who will never listen to specifics but that doesn't rule out the conversation altogether. You say you are sick of everytime you hear about a radical attack you have to defend and explain yourself? Yeah we were too when an IRA bomb went off. But thats the price to pay when nutters attempt to speak in your name. All you can do is keep stating loud and clear...thats not me. Is it fair? No. The alternative is your silence is construed as tacit support...again unfair but fact of life.
