Messi is worth £600k per week. He'd also make any club who signs him a lot more attractive to other potential signings.
Because of the tax situation I'm sure his take home pay is no different to what he gets in Spain.
 
Arsenal's highest paid player gets £130k a week, they obviously wouldn't entertain paying anyone £600k a week, however good they are.

They wouldn't entertain the fee he'd require either.
 
It's no big deal for him, the worst he can expect is a slap on the wrist and the repayment of a couple of million. His dad's in more trouble and could get banged up, making it even less likely he'd want to leave Spain.
I think you will find he's not got that attitude and he'll be playing for a Premier League club next season. He hates Spain now and it's not a question of practicalities.
