Went upset hunting, and got an upset. Dover 1-2 Stourbridge. But my word... trying to do multiple reports from Dover is enough to break a man. No WiFi provided by the club and no internet signal!!
Why would you want that? Surely that pleasure should be passed to Eastleigh in round 2, then we'd play Eastleigh in Round 3
Hard an interview with their manager , think he was about to call us scum , but decided against it . just my take on it though .
What a game and win for Whitehawk. I'm sure you won't need any encouragement , but please post a link to your match report when it's up. Hopefully a game like that will get you a decent spread in the paper.
Ha, you're telling me! Bonkers, and what a feel-good vibe. The Sun originally wanted 200 words, but quickly enough revised that up to 500-600 words! P.S. Never seen a set of fans like Whitehawk's, they had the following: - Bells - Drums - Horns - Tambourines - Trumpets - Whistles Oh, and an air raid siren. And their voices. The game was stopped three times due to smoke bombs, and when it finally ended, there was a pitch invasion. One Lincoln fan was thrown out for trying to punch the Whitehawk striker, Jake Robinson, and another threw a bin on to the pitch! Totally bonkers. Around 1,400 through the gates today which was great to see.
Yep! They were singing anti-racism songs and passing around a big rainbow flag to show support for the LGBT community also. Really nice folk from what I saw. Not your stereotypical 'ultras'.
I played my first ever FA Cup against Whitehawk. The replay was my second game at their place and it was a scary night. This was many years ago and the ground is probably a lot different and more secure.
I can imagine why. It's still at the end of a path/lane that runs a fair old while into the middle of nowhere, off the rougher part of Brighton. They've got two of the old Withdean stands down there now! (behind the goals)
