The FA Cup 1st round draw took place this evening and so it's time to introduce this season's FA Cup thread. Saints don't feature until the 3rd round, but I always end up regretting not following the FA Cup earlier in the season. So here goes:

The FA Cup first round is one of my favourite days in the footballing calendar. Love it.

Lowest ranked team Didcot, have drawn league opposition at home, in Exeter City. Last season Exeter at this stage away to Warrington, one of the lowest ranked teams at that stage then :)

Grateful to Eastleigh for getting me a point in the prediction game....singularly awful week for me. :(
I love Cup games, but don't like going to night matches anymore...hence why I've swerved the League Cup tie. Nice 3 pm Saturday game and I'll be there. Can't wait till we join in...nice easy tie like Chelsea will do. :)

There was no need for that from Jenner. Glad the kid threw his drink at him afterwards.

Stupid from the kid as well though.

Jenner deserved it. If you boot a ball at someone from one yard away then you should expect some sort of reaction.

The second goal was a good one, but abysmal defending.

This is the first season I'll have covered the FA Cup. Being hired out by The Sun to provide reports and interviews.

Double header this weekend:

Saturday - Dover Athletic vs Stourbridge
Sunday - Whitehawk vs Lincoln City

Looking forward to the games (and hopefully a couple of upsets!)

Anyone else who can't get to Sunderland going to some lower league/non-league games?

Didn't watch Salford v Notts County, but I have viewed the short highlights. Have I detected a BBC pleasure over Salford City winning and the fact that they are owned by some of the 92 Class.? They're meant to be neutral. This taking sides stuff is distinctly naughty. Felt sorry for Notts County, to be honest. Distinct feeling, from the highlights, that they were the Them in an US v THEM game.

Certainly got the pleasure from bbc, not sure you can attribute it to class '92 though. Got the feeling it was the underdog thing. Nobody wants to see a predictable win against a non-league side.
