to play in our defence now, obviously in their prime, who would you have?
Id like to see Dave Watson, Gary Bennett and Jeff Clarke in our defence.
I'm sure you will have better ones but these are 3 that stand out from where I can remember

Slim pickings. We've never had an outstanding center back in my memory.

My mind went to Steve Bould who whilst excellent for us was well past his peak.

Mensah was class when fit but was a loan.

Dave Watson was a strange one, he seemed to lose interest in the bread and butter games, but when a big occasion came arround he was immense, the best I have seen other than Hurley, The partnership I rated was Jeff Clarke and Bobby Moncur, both played for the dark side as well of course, but were great for us. Dickie Ord, Rob Hindmarsh, Barry Venison , Shaun Elliott, Ritchie Pitt, all home grown and all top players, I,m sure there are more that I have left out.

Danny Rose wouldn't be a bad shout, given how poor your LB has been lately.

Cecil Irwin, the finest exponent of the slide tackle the world has ever seen.
He would probably be sent off every week now because of these cheating diving bastards.

    Trying to remember that lad.

Is he the one who`s first job was to take out the oppos winger on to the running track based on the premise that legs full of cinders might slow them down a bit?
