If he had been born two or three centuries earlier, there's little doubt in my mind that Cortese would have led the overthrow of one monarch or another.
If he does that, it will be interesting to see how differently he behaves. I have worked for a man at a big corporate company who completely changed when I worked for him a second time and it was his money.
On the Leeds site, they mention massive debts...so not quite the bargain that we were because we were in administration. Leeds aren't. He would need a lot of backing to sort them out...looking ain't buying.
If he has the financial backing, he'll do an excellent job for you. Please bear in mind two additional facts when considering Nicola. 1. He comes from Italy. 2. He flippin' hates Pompey. I hope to hear such sentiments expressed in your terrace chants.
Phrased it wrongly...ML did pay the debts which were relatively small. To buy Leeds, Cortese would have to pay all the money owed to their owner (which is a lot).
Would it be possible that the Italian brings in Cortese as his front man, so he can skull around out of the way?
Does he know anymore billionaires that will let him run the club on his own and spend their money without any questions?
Given that the asset value of Saints vastly exceeds what our ownership has put into the club, I don't doubt it. KL could cash out and realize a high eight-figure/low nine-figure profit at any time, if desired; that's music to the ears of any wealthy potential owner who might want to jump into the business.
That's what a sensible owner realising his business needs some restructuring and he is not the man to do it would do. No chance.
