This is Chelsea's lowest points total after eight games in a top-flight season since 1978-79 (four points), when a win earned two points. Chelsea were relegated that season.
 
Worst start to a title defence in PL history. Chelsea also hold the record for the worst ever defence of the CL.

Record breakers.
 
Based on PL history, teams making the same start as Chelsea have finished 14th on average. So which teams will finish above them?
 
It's not all bad. Chelsea's relegation rivals West Brom and Newcastle lost today, with Sunderland being pegged back to only a point.

Yeah because you expected to be third.<doh> Surely your position surpasses the expectations of the most bias of Foxes?

Enjoy it though mate. I remember the time under Reidy when we were third at Christmas. That season was pure sex. Lap it up mate. :)
 
...does indeed... as you may recollect my real beef pre-season was people confidently predicting our demise and completely dismissing any prospect of us instead kicking on ... which we have undoubtedly done ...

Everybody has their pick. Is it really worth having beef with fans of irrelevant clubs because they happened to have you as part of their relegation picks? Get over it and enjoy the ride.

At this particular moment that finish looks decidedly generous - in comparison Moyes stint with you guys looks outstanding.
