Let the van gaal supporters stop deceiving themselves. This team is shyte. Van gaal has only improved the defence br he screwed the attack. We can't win anything when we find it difficult to score goals. Van gaal should just be sacked and lets move on.

Poor performance from our attack. The only consolation is that our defence is holding on. It seems that the chavs and United have swapped defences from the previous season.
The defence were brilliant again tbf. Considering they get left to pick up the pieces of LVG's failed tactics, they do themselves proud. You couldn't begrudge Palace the win tbh, but our defence earned that point. Might be the difference between finishing 4th or 5th
I have a horrible feeling it's LVG's tactics that are making our defence look better than they really are and the attack weaker. We need balance.

I'm a positive kinda guy .... but I think it's got slightly worse recently. Goal drought of over 5 hours. I saw the Chelsea game and it makes me feel bad that Mourinho in 15th seems to be getting more support than LVG in 4th.
At some point the team will lose confidence as they did under Moyes (and I feel there's sign of it already). IF he loses the dressing room it will get a lot worse as we saw 2 years ago.
I think that's unfair mate. The team/squad is actually very good. Any other decent manager would have us challenging properly. I'm sure of it.
I guess I put it the wrong way. We have a good squad, good enough to challenge for the title. But the manager style of play is not doing justice. Even if van gaal is the manager for 5 years we still won't challeneg for the title. Best to just get rid of him now and move on.
We have a very good squad. Perhaps lacking on that RW but that's a minor. Yep it is the manager, he is driving a McLaren F1 in 3rd gear and can't figure out how to change gear. I've never called for a manager to be sacked, and I won't with him either. It's the position rather than the individual that I respect. I look forward to 18 months from now when we get someone in to make this squad of players play the football God intended

The team/squad composition cannot be divorced from LVG as he was key in bringing them in. If the players are good enough, just changing the manager when we are having draws and are 4th is just pathetic nonsense. Who does he think we are? Chelsea ?

At this stage I don't see the world's best players wanting to play for us. Tbf I don't think van gaal would be manager next season. It is clearly obvious he doesn't understand the English game.

He doesn't understand the English game. I'm not concerned about bringing in the best players, and I think that's sort of going off at a tangent. This squad is the best we've had for 4 years. We really should be doing better. LVG isn't the man to do that though.

No, I said so earlier. I've never called for a manager's sacking. I said the same about Moyes. In fact given the choice, I'd rather have given Moyes more time with the players we've bought. LVG has 18-20 months left. We won't win anything but we'll probably tread water and finish top 4 both remaining seasons he's here. And we'll have a decent squad for the next man to take over and move forward.
It is obvious to all but the most blind of our fans that we are going through a bad patch. But like everything else it is all about expectations. I am happy ( and have been since SAF left) to be top 4 irrespective of the money spent, the squad, world class players manager.

It depends what you mean by re-establishing the club. I'm not saying we should be winning the league, but we should at least be performing better and demonstrating some expansive and attacking football. We should be heading into games, like today, confident of creating chances and looking like the favourites. I honestly cannot remember the last game we went into where I felt confident of a win. That is unacceptable and shouldn't take years. That should be expected of any manager after a year in the job. I've never been too worried about the results provided we're playing to our potential.
Yup, the results have been good. But the performances, the lack of intent we see every week, is not what I want for United. That's Chelsea's thang, not ours.
