That is exactly what I mean by regaining our previous position. That is having a team confident of playing well, as favourites against a smaller club, winning most of these matches. But unfortunately after a long period of success it does take years to do. Stopping a team on the slide shouldn't be that damn difficult but it is. Many managers in the past has found to their cost. Post Busby, post Paisley (spit) and now post Ferguson. Chelsea is on the slide. Shouldn't be that difficult to stop with so many internationals should it?
All of the above. But above all, can u rememeber the last time u watched united Play and actually enjoyed they way they played? It's complaint every game. Boring boring non penetrating football.
I missed the match but it sounds like it was an awesome nil nil draw, punctuated by the now customary free flowing attacking football by United, which we've been playing for months now. Lots of chances created, all missed by Rooney. Am I right? To think otherwise is ******ed, right?
Just checked the stats. We had one shot on target. Same as against City. Can't blame the opposition this time though. They were unlucky not to win apparently!
Correct. It wasn't even open play. Rooney free kick. If Van Gaal weren't so stubborn and you let Mata or anyone else take free kicks at least it would have been a chance and not just a shot.
No I disagree. If you're asking me whether we should look to win the title inside 2-3 years, I could understand the answer is no bcos we're rebuilding. But the thing you highlighted in bold in my previous post, is something a manager should be able to achieve inside a year. The Chelsea comparison is a poor one. How many managers have they had in the last 10 years. And yet they haven't had to take years to rebuild and have an impact in a relatively short period of time on the pitch. Unless that is, you're comparing LVG to Mourinho right now, bcos what's happening at Chelsea now is more about the manager than the players. That's about as much as we have in common with them right now.
Rooney's always been ****e at free kicks. Your occasional visits to other boards after a good result for Liverpool must be quite enlightening as you'll observe fans criticising the team and manager when it's deserved. It's not just the Liverpool fans you call "morons" who occasionally find fault with their club!
We've created an absolute **** load of chances though, it's just Rooney has missed them all. Oh wait a minute, that's absolute bollocks.
Every successful PL side has been built on a solid defence though. We've certainly got one of those. But Chelsea, Arsenal, City and of course, ourselves, always had one of of not the best defence in the league when winning titles. I'm not sure why this is ignored either. LvG is 100% at fault for our attacking problems but its the players bailing us out in defence? Explain that one to me...
Whether we like it or not the United situation IS unprecedented. No one had ever dominated the league with ONE manager like United did since the inception of the premiership to SAF retiring ( more than 20 years!)It is that sustained one man dominance that's been the problem. That's why I chose busby and paisley as previous managers to compare. In fact if we had managers staying for 4-5 years it wouldn't have been a problem. Some how there is always some huge upheaval, some loss of direction when a long term reign comes to an end. And in the past it always taken years to regain that stability. As I said don't ask me why. It should be easy shouldn't it but history and past situations suggest that it always takes time.
Why? You're a fcking idiot. Explaining anything to you is a wasted effort. You're either too stupid or too pig-headed to understand
It was a matter of days ago. You've probably forgot while having you meltdown the other day. You losing your memory in your old age?
You've got nothing then. As per usual. I will give you another chance, explain why is all van Gaals fault for our problems but the players are responsible for what goes right. Is it that difficult?
I see what you're saying but also want to stress I'm not expecting us to dominate the league now. I also think that the problems with thc lubs you've mentioned have often been of their own making. Poor players being brought in, poor managers being appointed. The worst being Liverpool, was a combination of both With us, I think the players are good enough. With Moyes they were Fergie's so your point stands with him. But most of the squad now is new or relatively new. So that should mean we have a clean slate for the manager to do what he wants surely? Even if you're right, I do think our turgid style of football is down to LVG rather than the aftermath of Fergie's reign.
In Trebles defence, you can't just continue to twist people's words how you see fit. You do it all the time. Saying 'I can't wait for this **** to **** off' (I think) . Is NOT saying van Gaal should be sacked. You've a really irritating habit of making it up as you go along.
Footballs not easy. That's why none of us are professionals, players or managers. The notion that bits a simple game is ******ed.
