A couple of weeks ago someone came back to N.Z. and seemed very surprised at how little was being made of this Rugby WC in the U.K. I politely pointed out that Rugby is no where near as popular in the U.K. as it is in N.Z. and in fact could well be considered a minority sport when compared with Football or Darts. They couldn't seem to "get their head" around this and thought that I was joking. Rugby fans over here just can't believe that anyone doesn't live, sleep or breathe Rugby like they do. I shall continue to enlighten them !!!:1980_boogie_down:

Or Bridge

The local Community Sports Club in my village reckon they'll have lost around £3,000 in bar takings as a result of England going out. There will be a good crowd in for the final next week, but why have the game at 4pm? If it's NZ v Aus millions of people back in the home countries will have to get up in the middle of the night to watch it.

Anyway, come on the All Blacks, if they play like they did in the second half yesterday I can't see either Argentina or Australia beating them. Dan Carter and Richie McCaw to go out on a high.

He obviously didn't visit Wales - generally, the country (especially the south and west) is pretty insane about rugby :emoticon-0100-smile

Had to search high and low to find a bar in Can Picafort (Mallorca) which was showing the rugby. Most bars were showing what a vastly inferior sport football is compared with rugby. Eventually found the International bar and enjoyed a very intense and interesting game. Delighted that NZ won, why the Twickenham wanted SA to win I do not know, or do they like dour defensive rugby, as dished up by the Springboks yesterday, with points coming from the boot? I know what kind of rugby I like and that is the way NZ play it - through the hands!!

If Nigel started refereeing football there would be so many red cards in the few weeks and none of this arguing with the ref:

"Excellent work from replacement Sonny Bill Williams, who has overloaded twice already and bought his side some serious extra yards"

I'm not an expert (like the BBC on-line commentator who wrote this) but isn't overloaded the wrong term?
