He looked like a man about to get the sack as he walked off but that might just be wishful thinking. It's been a long time since a QPR team got that sort of reception after an away match.

What reception out of interest?

I was in the terrace behind the goal and a couple of happy clapper police started on an unfortunate couple of blokes near me who as far as I saw didn't actually moan.

Proper punch up as well

I left on 80 mins.

Bored of it and wish I wasn't right

Just a lot of angry people. At Birmingham, which was just as bad, people still clapped the team off for some reason. The vast majority made a point of letting them and particularly Ramsey know this was a pisstake.

Cheers

I had already left.

All got leary from here. Was long gone by kick off.

I am actually now properly out my tree

I was stood to the upper left of the goal as we faced the pitch. Judo and SussexR just happened to be in front of me, which is a coincidence as that's our same positions at Loftus Road. I just stood numb at the end. I couldn't boo or clap as a few did. I thought it would be worse than this from the fans, Ramsey trudged past and a few of the players clapped us but they were mainly met with nothing but blankness. Yet again the team had tremendous support and were in full voice, and yet we got served up with that.

Right from the off the body language looked wrong and 'panic football' ensued throughout the game. There was no energy, no game plan, no passing, no pressing and no team or spirit. Of course there's no need for me to pass this on, we've all seen it. Either in real life or on the box, the result and performance doesn't change.

There's a few on here who didn't want Allardyce at our club. Myself included. 'He's too much of a hoofball/longball merchant we all said. I think even he would've struggled to out long ball Coach Ramsey tonight.

Coach Ramsey's excuses for tonight's performance ...

CHRIS RAMSEY RUES MISSED CHANCES – AND LABELS DEFEAT ‘HARSH’

Head coach speaks following QPR's 1-0 west London derby reverse against Brentford at Griffin Park ...

  • Chris Ramsey points to wasted chances as Rangers beaten at Brentford
  • Solitary Marco Djuricin goal early in the second half the difference
  • R's top scorer Charlie Austin made a return from injury at Griffin Park
QPR head coach Chris Ramsey bemoaned missed opportunities, as Rangers fell to a slender Sky Bet Championship defeat against Brentford in tonight’s (Friday) west London derby at Griffin Park.

In an action-packed affair, the Hoops twice struck the woodwork among other opportunities in the first half.

That proved costly, as Brentford won it through Marco Djuricin 11 minutes after half-time.

Ramsey told www.qpr.co.uk: “It’s a tough defeat to take.

“I thought Brentford played some slick football tonight, they’re a good team, but we created the more clear-cut chances.

“We hit the post twice in the first half, and we need to keep on creating those chances.

“Unfortunately, if you don’t take your opportunities, the momentum swings. Those missed chances have ultimately cost us.”

He added: “I couldn’t ask for any more from the players effort-wise.

“We’re defending better now. Unfortunately, we gave the ball away too much at times tonight, and surrendered possession cheaply for the goal. Brentford are a good passing side. That meant we had to do extra leg work.

“But, all in all, we still created chances. We just couldn’t take them.”

Club captain Clint Hill looked in pain as he was forced off through injury late in the second half.

Ramsey added: “Clint took a bit of a knock – but he’s a warrior.

“We’re hoping he’ll be back soon, but the extent of his injury is currently unclear.”

One positive on the night was the return of top scorer Charlie Austin, who was introduced in the second half.

“It’s a big boost to us,” Ramsey said.

“He’s worked his way back into the squad and I thought he showed a lot of desire when he came on.

“Hopefully he’ll feature again at Derby on Tuesday.”

Indeed, Rangers visit Pride Park in midweek, looking to bounce back from this defeat.

Ramsey – who confirmed that Sandro missed tonight’s game through injury, and that defender Gabrielle Angella could return at Derby County – continued: “We’ve got no fear going anywhere.

“We’re still a work-in-progress. With a little more luck, we could have got something this evening.

“We’ll go again on Tuesday night.”

Ramsey saved his final words for the fans, and concluded: “I feel for the fans, of course I do.

“We understand there’s a lot of bragging rights connected to these fixtures.

“Obviously, we want to respond in the next two games now this week (Derby and Preston North End at Loftus Road on Saturday).

“There’s still a long way to go – I still believe there’s much more to come from this group of players.

“Yes, we know we can improve on certain areas of our game, but this defeat feels harsh tonight.”

Having read this article, I felt the need to edit some of Chris's comments to give the fans a clearer definition of what he actually meant and or, what we think.

I know I'll be slated on here for saying this but I also think Pearson is the man for us. A bulldog of a manager who takes no prisoners. We need a manager who will shake things up and manage these pre madonnas

You're spot on Nuts. The absolute state of some of the posters on here at the back end of last season aghast at the thought of "the likes" of Allardyce or Pullis managing us was ludicrous. Managers proven at getting the best out of a limited squads/budgets and taking us to the next level. For clubs of our size it's about survival, joined up thinking and sustainability. While that happens you earn yourself the breathing space to work on your infrastructure.

I'll allow Ramsey this much. Goals do change games and had our woodwork shots gone in then it is of course a different game. We should have been creating many more chances after those two.

Why doesn't Konchesky get the same abuse as Henry.
Henry played like Messi in comparison to Konchesky's Sunday league performance.
Very strange.

Just a less noticeable position I guess and overall he's had a much better season. I agree though- thought he was our worst player.
