If it wasn't for his Budgie connections I would have loved for him to manage Town!
Oh dear - trouble in paradise? Not happy with big Mick any more?

Try as I might I cannot disagree with that. Hughton had to go, but it was a mistake to fire him with five games remaining. We might well have stayed up if he hadn't gone then.
As many have said on here, he is not a bad manager. That much is clear. We were very much the wrong club for him though.
I agree it was a mistake on the timing, but stay up with him! Have you been on the loopy juice? We were already looking thoroughly relegated before he was finally sacked, that was kind of why the board reluctantly did so!
I agree he has once again shown himself to be a good championship manager. Wrong place, wrong time for us or just not up to the premier league? Time will tell.
I'm sure there would be no justice in him coming up and us (unlikely I know) going down, poetic or otherwise. He had plenty of time to sort out his problems at CR, that he couldn't, indicated some shortcomings as a manager. He was in my book not slighted by the club. There are not many clubs who would have kept him as long as we did, and the final favour we did him was letting him escape having the relegation he had condemned us to on his CV. Was it poetic justice that Villa sacked Lambert after he left us? No, no more than any transient employee who encounters former employers and circumstances later in their career.
If he has success down the line be that promotion this year or a high finish in the Prem in the future, I would be indifferent, maybe a little disappointed. By the end of his reign at CR I couldn't stand the manager, even if as was constantly reputed, he is a very nice man. He's not Roeder, not everything he did was to the detriment of the club, but they were up there with Roeders for the most depressing days to watch NCFC in my time as a Canary. I turned down more than one opportunity to see the boys play and that was on him (And the players too).
Bah!
Re. Hughton, early days yet. He's doing well at Brighton, but every single one of their wins has been by a single goal. And he did well enough with us for the first half of the first season (the ten-match run). Let's see if the players are frightened of their own shadows by the time we get to 30 games.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the board state that his job was safe as long as you were not in the bottom three, but nevertheless sacked him before you were in the relegation zone? I'd hardly call that 'reluctantly', and being out of the bottom three with four matches left is hardly 'thoroughly relegated'.

Okay well how about his 1st place finish with Newcastle and 4th place finish with Birmingham? I suppose that was just lucky as well?
It didn't turn out well for him at Norwich in the end, there's no argument there from me. But can we have at least some balance in your arguments and acknowledge that he has had some success in his career.
To be honest, it was clear Hughton had to go at the end of the season one way or the other and I don't know any Norwich fan who disagreed with that. His time was up. We got relegated.
So quibbling over whether it was the right time or the wrong time for him to actually leave and whether we stood a better chance of avoiding relegation depending on what happened is really just that - quibbling. And I think we all know which of us think one way and which think the other and I think we all respect that the others won't change their minds
I also think we're all pleased we ended up in the Premier League with Alex Neil for all his learning left to do (correct me if I'm wrong!) and I for one am pleased Hughton is doing well at Brighton.
Not many managers leave a club on a high note..........
