I look at the likes for my post and to some extent I think thank you, but I also wonder why. This board lost the plot (for me) when a moderator banned me outside of his usual parameters, simply because I disagreed with him. No way was it worthy; just a question, a difference of opinion and mutual dislike.
That's done and dusted, as far as I am concerned, but our moderators really do need to get a grip. This isn't Twitter (a failing medium), this is about conversation, opinion, point of view - being in-the-know does not make you good or right, being succinct might just indicate you have little to offer. I have, over the years, been told  to use PM, but what a convenient joke that is for our moderators.
When you have folk, who dislike each other so much, it is difficult to keep a sensible balance in conversation and moderation.
This isn't Twitter, the Witch-Hunt on Roo was ****, he had a point, just not everyone's.
It's easy to be abusive on here, for some, isn't it?

Best post of the month! Thank you for being brave enough to make a stand against the bad-boy minority!

Our local "moderator" once declined the moderator job, or pretended to, saying it would force him to curtail expressing his own views. He was fairly good for quite a long time after (reluctantly?) taking the (admittedly very difficult) job, but recently he's been back to his real self, actually JOINING IN with the little clique of mutually-"liking" cyber-bullies that attempt to dominate this forum. They know who they are (and so do most of the silent majority on here).

This is, or should be, and used to be, a brilliant forum, with a large number of remarkably excellent and highly diverse contributors. Unfortunately, it is being progressively taken over by a few anonymous nobodies whose sole agenda in their every post seems to be to cram as many foul-mouthed expletives as possible into one "sentence". Do these proud keyboard warriors use the same language at home? In front of their children? Or their parents? If not, why not?

It's regrettable that some of our newest contributors have entered this forum using the same gutter language, obviously thinking this is a condition of entry. Big Mod, Ric, it's time for you to step in and clean up this FOOTBALL forum.

Couldn't agree more BT. I've wondered the same thing. Do those on here who seem unable to complete a sentence and express an opinion without spewing a stream of expletives talk like that at home, in the office, etc. I was asked to leave another board for calling a poster "a moron" for a vicious hate speech diatribe against Margaret Thatcher on the day of her funeral. But it seems for some posters on here there are no limits and they can get away with it. As BT says, "clean up your act" folks, its a FOOTBALL forum, not a bar room brawl. You can disagree, as we all do, without resorting to filth!!

I often wonder why people are happy to spend so long arguing on here over the most stupid of things.

Don't think I've ever involved myself in any argument to the same extent of pages and pages of posts. For example, I don't agree with most of the things the Leicester fans come here and post but I don't waste my time arguing back with them.

You can have a difference of opinion but it's easier and quicker to move on and agree to disagree then 47 pages later still argue over whether ketchup should be eaten on hotdogs or whether it should be mustard.

Decent threads are becoming increasingly derailed. My last thread turned into a religion-fest when some people trying to get it locked.
Ketchups for children for god sake man.
HP and Mustard is the way to go and not that weak American mustard.

You had a fall out with two posters, you were just as responsible as they were and I didn't take sides, I sent all three of you a group message asked for it to stop.

The easiest way to the most popular moderator, is to not do any moderating at all.

The **** had had many more fallouts before me.

He's an obnoxious & boring **** & needs to be told.

I'd rather read three pages of ****s, ****s & bastards than three pages of Castro & Mr Bean discussing the rights & wrongs of the English language.

To all, swearing is allowed, live with it, use the profanity filter or get ****ed. I won't be changing, I may just do it more.

My goodness, you're remarkably well informed about the history of this board for someone who only registered in May 2014. How did you find all that out?

Some people are never going to be entirely happy with the what is and isn't allowed on here, all we can do is try and please most of the people most of the time. In the main, we try to avoid moderating at all, giving people as much free rein as possible, only when the rules have been breached, or things are getting out of hand do we step in.

It's a judgement call, we're not going to get it right all the time, but we do our best.

Whatever.

Enough whinging about the mods eh they waste enough of their own time I bet reading post after post and intervening with all of our petty bullshit arguments. And they don't get paid a penny for it.

Yes most belong to the clique, but if you'd been here long enough you'd know the clique is long standing, fattened in personnel and holds all the cards around these parts. We nominate our own to protect our right to tell soft ****s to get ****ed.

If you think the majority are in agreement with your liberal pc type ideology, why not try and pull off a ku de ta, unseating our current mods and seating yourselves to implement your vision of a good football forum?

I bet you can't be arsed to spend the time, yet will call out those who do. ****ers.

I'm one who does it, and I think a bit of healthy debate is the whole point of a discussion board. It's not a statement board. But I agree when it becomes a "No I'm right," "No I'm right" back and forth it's unneeded.

Many guests read these posts, some guest join in, many don't; there might be a reason for that.
