We lack width it's ridiculous. We've gone from having Sterling, Ibe, Markovic, Moses and Assidi to just Ibe for anyone who will actually provide us width. Clyne and Moreno being the only two giving us width won't help us achieve anything, full backs are full backs for a reason.

Lallana is a YouTube player, nice skills but offers nothing else. When Moreno smashed it along the box he didn't even attempt to get a touch on it, just immediately shouted at Moreno to why it wasn't put on a plate for him.

I thought our defence was looking really good yesterday and then we get done on a set piece, Ming could've been stronger too.

I do agree though that he's nothing special, more a workhorse to do the dirty work of better players. I just think that the majority are very happy with the appointment of a coach who has a proven record and who plays a style of football that compliments our club. Yes some of the reaction is over the top but again that's our club and if we believe something is right or good for us we trend to ride the wave regardless of where it takes us.
Rodgers had sucked the life out of us I didn't recognise a Liverpool team on the pitch, he abandoned his philosophy long ago and left us without an identity. What I saw yesterday was a team with an idea a style of play, hard work and attacking football. There are still flaws to be worked on and as Klopp has said the main one is to calm down (pun) relax and control instead of the desperate nature of the players.
I understand the fawning over Klopp it's just a relief to be rid of Rodgers.

When a manager gets appointed there is a new belief and hope that matters will improve. This is universal and not only applies to us. But this going on with Klopp is unprecedented IMO and is mildly embarrassing. Yes we are relieved that Rodgers us gone. But in the way we reacted to Klopps appointment we showed how desperate we were for glory and how we believed that he was the one to bring it to us. We also give the impression that LFC is not a big enough club or not good enough for him and that we are ever so grateful for him to come here. FFS we have been and are good enough for a manager like him.

He himself is trying to calm us down and relieve the pressure on him and the players.

If we had bought a superstar player like Messi then I would have understood the adulation and the heavy expectation and the incomprehension that he had come to us. Klopp and us may be at the same level and therefore more suited to each other. I just hope that everybody is now calmer after these recent draws.

Not sure what we were supposed to be jealous of but we were jealous nonetheless! Whilst the hysteria has died down after 3 bore draws it will go straight back into overdrive when you pummel Bournemouth mid week!

I genuinely don't believe he is doing that. He is simply relaxed and taking it all in his stride. I agree about the "grateful" comment though, great manager but Liverpool is a great club too.

Can't believe people are moaning about things already though. It's been three games and there HAS been an improvement despite the results not being any better. These things take time and as most said in the summer, this season is a write-off because Brod was always going to get the boot and a new manager would need time to settle and alter things. Just because the league is open and we could get something this year if we got our act together doesn't change that stance. If we achieve something this year, great. If not, so what, we didn't expect to.

This is where you and I are different - you think one assist yesterday masks his awful performance over the 90 mins.

I prefer better contribution from a man we out straight into the team, as captain and made our highest paid player.

His movement, passing and intelligence are all lacking. His work rate is exceptional but if that's what we needed, then we should sign some marathon runners instead.

I agree, some are taking the adulation to another level. I'm just glad I see Liverpool on the pitch again. I understand the attitude though even though I'm a bit calmer about his appointment than some.

What's been embarrassing is some of the kopites on the likes of TS, social media or rawk, spouting off as if his arrival automatically meant a return to the 'glory days'.

The sense of entitlement that many kopites have, went into warp drive and there was talk of CL football, Cups and titles within days of his unveiling. He was going to turn crud into heroes and turn the job around.

His opening 3 games shows that instant success isn't likely, and Liverpool are a country mile off a return to title challenges and being amongst the elite of the game.

You misunderstand what I said. You're wording was that we shouldn't praise Milner for putting effort in, nothing else was mentioned at that point. Clearly, you have to give players credit for working hard so I disagreed with you. However, I do agree with you that he's been poor bar the running (and the odd cross ).

I will never criticise a player if they are trying their best. Players have of days or a lack of form, the only person that deserves criticism for that is the manager for continually picking them whilst out of form. Of course, the manager could also be trying to let said player play his way back into form.
