Yes I know but you would think the fences would slow them down, to what extent I don't know. Haven't looked to see if there is much difference in times generally. Probably another piece of useless information. About the only thing at which I'm any good at the moment![]()
Stick is the expert of course but bumpers are introductory races for young horses and are often run at a very sedate pace before quickening (or trying to) in the last half mile or so. If chasers went that slow they wouldn’t get over the fence.
