The real issue was pardew asked him to play rwb essentially. He isnt a physical freak like sissoko or bolasie and pardew didn't know how to make the team pick up his slack.

Er not quite. The real issue was he thought he was bigger than the club. Pardew expected him to work hard. A minimum requirement for any professional footballer now regardless of position. He was fat and unprofessional. Just because he is now doing well in the comfort zone in France does not mean we can re-write history. Pardew was spot on with him.

What a great pity he wasted his talents at Newcastle. Not for the 1st time this season he scored yet another brilliant finish in Nice's 4-1 win at Rennes to head the French goal scoring table with 7 goals.
He seems to have knuckled down this season, hope it lasts for him.

He was paid a cockload of money to turn up to training, stay match fit and try his best in matches. He failed at all three of those things during his time with us.

He left us with some good memories and there were times when he carried the team. There were an awful lot of games when he was just a passenger and overall I think the club gave him more than enough during his time with us for me to feel like I, or we, owe him anything. I'll watch the highlights of his goals as I like watching good play but I'm not going to wistfully wish him back. Just because he's not **** (which was never in doubt) and we have worse players still on our books (which we all know) doesn't mean we'd be better with him back.

We really wouldn't.

Id have him back.

The guys a genius! Ability wise, he is up there with Ronaldo, Messi, Ronaldinho.

whilst were at it, can we find out were laurent Robert is?

Thats what i watch football for! Thundering 30 yard free kicks and volleys, players nutmegging the opposition then going on to score after running 40 yards!

Yeah, the problem was that while here he spent more time eating nutmeg than performing them!!

Pardew was the wrong manager for him he was never a right back which is where pardew asked him to be most of the time.

He's gone now though and that is that.

Despite his poor fitness and not starting in many of his games, his scoring record in the PL was like 1 in 5, which isn't that bad. He also created some decent chances.

He obviously had an ego, but so what?

Many footballers are twats yet good man managers manage to get the best out of them. Pardew was a **** man manager, thus the phrase "pardewed". Not many players seemed to improve under pardew and carvers influence.

Ben Arfa was awesome in a 4-3-3 sort of formation, given defensive freedom as a RW. But he just doesn't work in a 4-4-2 when asked to defend, and as much as we believe all players should get stuck in defensively, he's just never going to be defensively good, but it can be excused if a player scores and creates.

Pardew was a great man manager actually. Vast majority of the players love playing for him. Many things we can accuse him of, from poor tactics, to bad behaviour. Man management is actually his strongest suit by quite some way. Definitely a players manager.

Fat boy was just not right in the head.

Pardew was a good manager, let's not go nuts here <laugh>

I don't think we'll ever know what ails Ben Arfa, but I was privileged to watch him play in black and white, something I'll not say of much of the **** since!

Personally, I reckon he was arrogant enough to tell Pardew where he played best, and Pardew disagreed or couldn't marry it with his philosophy.

Similar... For what it's worth I don't think anybody ever questioned Bellamy's work rate though!

SBR called him the gobbiest player in football and also said he could start an argument in an empty room, Bellamy whacked Riise with a golf club at Liverpool, he had real talent but there were some demons on his shoulders, done a lot in Africa though including putting his own money into projects unlike the Bono's who have vast fortunes and want everyone else to give.

He was a lazy fat ****, plain and simple.
We played with 10 men some games cos of him.

I blame Pardew.

To me it was always Souness
Robert, Bellamy, the best team we assembled for the past 15 or so years was torn apart by him

He also ostracised the likes of Milner, Jenas and the under-rated Aaron Hughes. He brought us instead Boumsong, Babayaro and Amdy Faye.

Think he brought back Nobby though so can't hate him entirely.
