I think he's one who could do with another season or two at a lower level like the Dutch league to get his confidence up in a league that's easier to score goals.
Origi is very raw - but he'll develop well under Klopp I feel. But we cannot be in a position where we rely on him. Again, it all boils down to previous management for our current lack of options up top, in midfield and now In defence.
Yep, because you only have 4 strikers (and one out on loan), 4 centre backs (and 2 out on loan), countless midfielders. Previous management left you with no options at all (if you think your new manager can't "develop" these players in their correct positions that is)
I'm guessing the phrase 'quality, not quantity' is lost on you. All well and good having 4 strikers but how many of them can you actually rely up on. This is fun, please continue.
Where was it used? The players you have at the moment are Liverpool quality, you have a distance to go before you are beyond them.
MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Victory would see Liverpool record six consecutive league wins against Tottenham for the first time in their history. The Reds have scored a total of 18 goals and conceded just four in the last five meetings. They have also scored eight unanswered goals on their last two trips to White Hart Lane, winning 5-0 in 2013 and 3-0 last season. Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham have the joint best defensive record in the division, conceding seven goals. They are the only Premier League team unbeaten since the opening weekend (W3, D4). Spurs have received 24 yellow cards in this season's top flight - more than any other side. Christian Eriksen has scored six direct free-kicks in the Premier League since his debut in September 2013 - more than any other player. Liverpool The Reds have won one of their last nine Premier League away games (D4, L4). That was their victory at Stoke on the opening weekend of the season. Their last eight league and cup goals have been scored by English players. Liverpool have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight matches in all competitions.
A shaky defence and no strikers fit Gonna have to have a flutter on Spurs to win to nil then, and get Flopp off to a losing start
I'm not expecting miracles from Nobby's first game- especially with the injury list we have. I am expecting an improvement in the style of play, but the result is entirely unpredictable. I'll be happier to see us play a higher game, press, and get more players in the box when we have the chance. That way, goals will come, I think. How long it will take him to organise and instil confidence into our ropey defence is another matter. For the first time since Suarez buggered off, I'm excited and genuinely fascinated to see where we're going.
I hope we don't rely on Origi up front. No offense to the lad, but he's absolutely pants. For someone to get voted in the worst 11 in the French league takes so doing like Lucaas said he needs another loan (or 4) #nojinx
Klopp will have minimal effect on this game. Far too early for him to make a telling impact, any improvement will be due to it being the honeymoon period and players wanting to impress the new guy
The desire to make an early impression under Jürgen Klopp means Liverpool will be plenty motivated to extend a dominant recent record against Tottenham Hotspur, according to Lucas Leiva. White Hart Lane is the venue for the new manager’s first match in charge of the Reds and history suggests the London ground is a good place for his tenure to get under way. Comprehensive 3-0 and 5-0 victories have been recorded in the previous two visits there, helping to forge a run of five successive league wins over Spurs home and away. Lucas told Liverpoolfc.com: “We were in a good moment at the times we played there – we played with a lot of confidence and bravery, going there with a mentality to win the game. “Of course, it’s always a tough game, but in the last couple of games we were good against them. Hopefully we keep that going and start this new chapter with a good win. “Everyone wants to prove themselves. Of course, we’ll get better with many more games and understanding the way [the manager] wants us to play. “But it gives you a lift, motivation and confidence as well. If we put everything together and play the way he wants us to play, I think we’ll be fine.” Fortune has not always favoured Klopp during his opening week at Melwood. International commitments prevented the German from working with a full complement of players in his initial training sessions, while injuries continue to limit his options too. But Lucas expects the clean slate for those who are involved in the capital this afternoon to provide its own boost in confidence for a team determined to climb the table. “It’s not ideal when you have players away and a few players will only have been back for a couple of days before the game,” he explained. “It’s a new manager and a new way of playing. But he has been working with us and we go there with confidence. “It’s a fresh start for everyone – everyone will be really excited to have a good game. Hopefully it will be a good start for him and for the players as well.”
