Cor. I might give it a watch. Also, a draw against Italy will not be enough for Norway, having lost to Croatia 5-1(!) in Croatia, and beaten them 2-0 in Norway, the head-to-head means Croatia will take second spot in the event of a tie on points. At least Pirlo is injured!
That goal for those who aren't watching. Was a great goal, if only he'd score a few like that for us.
Unless I'm misunderstanding (likely...), I don't know why the commentators are saying one goal isn't enough for Norway - I think it would have been. One more point would make them the highest points scoring third place team unless I'm missing a result, and therefore they would have qualified.
I believe this tournament works on the head-to-head record within the qualifying stages. But why, rather than goal diff. or goals scored, mystifies me
It works on head to head within a group, but then there's an odd number of groups so the team in third with the most points in the group stage (minus results against 6th place teams) bypasses the playoffs. I make it that Norway would have avoided it with another point, as it is Hungary qualify directly I think. Edit: I'd missed Turkey, whose result against Iceland has secured them the best third place team qualifying spot.
There was the goal against Sunderland which was even better than this IMO. I seem to remember Hughton saying he would never manage it again...
Didn't really know where to post this but notwithstanding the fact that Mr O'Neil has been a silly boy, spot the mistake by our 'friends' in the Suffolk press http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/n..._over_103mph_speeding_charge_on_a14_1_4269716
Well, they mention Derby City, oops, County. He was sent off in that match but I am not sure he scored.
Ha, ha I was having a 'blonde' moment and read it incorrectly ! When they said he scored against Derby in the play-off final they were refering to Koo-Pee-Aah's final not ours ......................<coat>
It would be a real shame if this happened: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34538252 Especially as they are playing so well this seaon.
