Am surprised a mere bat can take down a Scottish midge...thought those little bastards could bring down a Golden Eagle.
The only time I've walked in the Highlands, I was warned beforehand that we would be eaten alive by the midges. So down to the outdoorshop I went and bought those net things that go over your hat. You look quite ridiculous but thankfully we were saved the embarrassment by the complete absence of the nasty little blighters. Caught a bat in the net though.
Not just 1. 3000 a night!

Nope - had one in my room in Africa though. Had a snack of a big spider in the middle of the night - could have done without the crunchy sounds and the bits of arachnid on the covers ............
