  1. And they irritate the **** out of me. The only reason for laziness is choice, a player chooses to be lazy!

So, you would prefer a striker who runs around like a blue arsed fly to one who was always in the right place to score when needed?

I'd prefer a red arsed striker who works hard to be in the right place when needed and runs and puts effort in to get there more oft than not... Not just when he happens to be there. <ok>

And by red arsed I mean the color of his shorts... Not that he had been involved in bdsm before the game... Although I'm aok if he had been.

For the ridiculous sums of money footballers are on, I wouldn't accept laziness from any of them. Coming alive in the last 20m, fox in the box or poachers are poor excuses for bone idle players who can't be arsed putting any effort in. No reason they can't press and harass defenders whilst making runs AND making an effort in the last 20m.

You don't need pants for the victory dance, 'cos IR's better than Weasel,
IR baboon makes Star Platoon - I.M Weasel!

IR baboon reigns king in his mind, he's just as good as the weasely kind,
But 'round every corner he's likely to find - IM Weasel!

All done from memory. When my 20-year-old was 3 we used to watch Cartoon Network for hours. Happy days.

It's not laziness, there is an art to it.
Some strikers can become invisible for 10-20 mins at a time, which miraculously finds them in space in the right place at the right time.

In a game you're dominating that is fine.

If you're on the back foot and struggling you really need someone who can help you when you're with the ball or without. There's certainly constructive movement and then there is headless chicken movement. Early days Kuyt was headless chicken and not helpful but overtime with nurturing it became constructive movement. Kuyt is the model example of someone who was a forward but useful when we lost the ball.

Only issue is keeping Sturridgr and Benteke injury free while playing at that intensity every game..

If Klopp can get Firm and Ben working up to their pre-season hype abilities would be good: otherwise Ings on for Ben and Cout more central with Hendo as a more advance wide AM. (Can taking his spot)

It's an interesting point. Rooney is a good example. He was often said to be working too hard and trying to do too much running that he then wouldn't be in the right place at the right time or would use up too much energy chasing the ball..

What you want is a Suarez, do a **** load of running but still ends up in the right place but only 0.0001% of footballers can actually do that (and probably even less than that).

So it comes down to do you want a runner who will get you 10 goals a season, or a "lazy" player that will get you 20? Well then it depends on the rest of the team.. if you have a player that is going to get you 20 goals but needs others to do the dog work then you build the team around that...

It comes down to having workers with the extra it of quality. A team of quality lazy players wins you nothing, but a team of workers with no extra quality doesn't win you games either... you need a good mix and sometimes a player that doesn't offer much in the build up can work if he has the right set up around him. RVN is a perfect example, one of best finishers in the Prem but didn't offer much in terms of build up but didn't need to because he had players like Bechkam/Giggs/Scholes sticking the ball in the right places.

According to Frank's link Klopp wanted Benteke to replace Lewdcowonskis.

So maybe Klopp is the man to make Benteke play good in red. Maybe he is the next lewdcow.

Absolutely - he's a new manager who needs time. But more importantly, he's proven.

I think Can will thrive under Klopp - in fact, I think Klopp will get a lot more out of the players than Rodgers could.

A powerful midfield is crucial to Klopp's set up so I can definitely see potential for a Hendo and Can partnership - power and energy is crucial but ability on the ball is also, and this is where Milner and Henderson slip up, and it's where Can offers something different.

Can has been poor this season, no arguments but he's a young lad playing in defence under a coach who simply didn't know how to coach players. But despite his poor performances, one thing you cannot say about Can is that he hides. He will make a few mistakes but he won'y shy away from the ball - he will continue to demand it, and he will make things happen, or at least try, with his powerful runs into midfield. Not to mention that a few people were worried that we didn't have a Scouser in the team in the Derby but he certainly showed a lot of passion.

Very talented player and he's only 21 but I think his size makes some think that he's older than what he is. And this lad has international caps for Germany - this isn't England. The German team is packed full of talent with at least 3 quality players in each position. This lad is special and he's a future captain.
