Chris Evans is thinking of presenting Top Gear on his own. Someone at the BBC needs to tell him to use his ****ing brain. Top Gear will be slaughtered by Clarkson, Hammond and May's new show if he goes alone.
The audience has been used to three people. What can he really do on his own that even comes remotely close to what Clarkson, Hammond and May did with the show? He'll want to make his own mark on the show but changing it too much would kill it IMO.
Yea read that yesterday, I won't be watching the Chris Evans version as I don't think it will come anywhere near what the boys come up with. May the best version win.
Don't you think that's a bit of a sad outlook? Why not give the new show a go just in case it's good. I do recall Richie you saying you had some bad experience with Evans, but not sure why Tom Tom would refuse to watch it. if you liked a program about cars, why not try it first before condemning it? Like him or not, Evans has been very successful at producing/hosting Television shows.
You've made up your mind before a minute has been broadcast. That's a very narrow minded approach. As I said above, Evans has lots of TV success. He may well do it again and don't forget that his biggest successes have come by starting with a completely new style and format. I laugh when I read you dismissing things without trying them.
There's a little devil in me hoping that Evans gets Lewis Hamilton to be his co-host or use "Lewis in a car" lap every week.... Maybe even Lewis loving could tempt our Tom to take a peek
Yes your correct FLT I unfortunately met the big headed git and my dislike for him is immense, but also another reason I will only watch Clarckson/Hammond/May is that they have a proven winning format for a very good entertainment/car show. Plus I won't have to pay for Amazon prime as the wife has had it for a couple of years now ........so for me it's free
I'll probably start watching the new Top Gear when it airs the first episode just out of curiosity. I can't see me lasting long though.
