I think Comolli wanted him when he was still at St Etinenne - would have been very cheap.

Since Rafa left, we've been making mistakes in all aspects.

Comolli gets a lot of **** and deservedly so since he bought a lot of **** but he's also unearthed quite a few gems too

He may not be a DOF but he's an excellent scout.

With hindsight, players acquired under Comolli haven't been bad at all. Carrol was the big mistake but you could argue that was really just down to injury....he may well have matured had we played a certain style and stayed fit. He didn't, so it was a bit of a stain on his copybook. But others? Suarez was the gem. But Henderson has proved to be an astute buy too. There were a few makeweights too; Adams (WASHED OUR FACE), Bellamy (wasn't bad really but free so does it count?), Downing (FAIL), Enrique (INJURIES)....

Truth is, nobody can get it right all of the time....his record isn't that bad.

If we'd applied the same success rate to acquisitions under BR, we'd have a few more gems....I'm sure.

I think it was Kenny who wanted Adam, Downing, Carroll and Adam. I've heard that DC wanted Matuidi, Gotze, Gomez.

Think Kenny played a part in Suarez as well.

Bale and Modric at Spurs too

For what it's worth. History has shown Comolli actually did pretty brilliantly in transfers. His hits outweigh his flops.

Wasnt he at Hamburg with Jol when they were doing well in Germany as well?

Youre always going to get a few flops doing that role so to tar someone's reputation just because of a couple of bad deals isn't fair.

Its not the finding of talent that concerns about Comolli, its the negotiating.

Spurs made a profit on transfers brought in under Comolli. So would we if we sold Henderson.

Yes He overpaid on some transfers but when you factor in finding players like Suarez and Bale he makes a profit.

It's some of those xfers we haven't paid the extra £1 or £2mill that went to Spurs or Chelsea that we regret most.
