Dick Advocaat doubtful on Sunderland future
Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat admits he cannot say whether he will be in charge of the team for their next game against West Brom on 17 October.
Reports on Saturday suggested he would quit, having joined the team in March.
But asked about his future after a
2-2 draw with West Ham, leaving Sunderland second bottom of the Premier League, he said: "I don't want to give an answer.
"Today I am the manager, what will happen in next days, weeks and months, I cannot say."
Asked if he will be manager for the next game after the international break, he added: "I cannot say that. The newspapers must have something to write otherwise there is nothing in the newspapers."
Advocaat, 68, was appointed in March with the club one point above the relegation zone.
He guided them to Premier League safety and was due to leave the club, only to change his mind and sign a one-year deal.
However, Saturday's draw with West Ham left Sunderland without a win in eight games and leaves them five points from safety.
As far as I can see there's nowt in there we didn't already know about.
