Been sick and bedridden these past couple of days so sorry for the late thread. Anyways Olympiacos was shambles, CL is a write off (atm), win this, focus on Prem and whatnot.
What approach do you think/want Arsenal to take? Pressure high up and full attack OR sit back a bit and hit them on counter attack (this is the approach we play against top teams whilst being AWAY).
Dominate possession, score early (or at least try to) and force them to leave themselves open for the counter.
Have a feeling that Arsenal will turn it up against manure, especially after being beaten at home by Olympiakos. They usually pick it up and play better after a poor result, especially after one they expected to win. So I'm expecting a big response and a victory for us. Arsenal 3-1 Man U Giroud, Walcott, Sanchez
I would like to see... ----------------------------Cech------------------------------- Bellerin----------Merts--------Gabriel---------Monreal ------------------Coquelin---------Carzorla---------------- -----------------------------Ramsey-------------------------- --Walcott-----------------Giroud---------------Sanchez-- Nothing against Ozil but I would like to see Ramsey in the no.10 role for his workmate and Walcott on the right for pace.
Bit concerned at central defence. Merts is a bit slow & Gabriel can be a bit fiery!!! If Martial & Co run at them with pace we could be in trouble.
Need a big performance from Ozil, yes he has been very good for us recently, yes he creates and assists a lot, BUT, in the big games for the most part he has gone missing, we need him to actually turn up tomorrow at a big game and for him to do his thing. Need a big performance from everybody tomorrow.
If we're going to play Ramsey in the centre I'd prefer him to partner Coq and Santi/Ozil to be the CAM. Not sure if I'd opt for Ramsey RW and Theo CF or Theo RW and Giroud CF.
Maybe Ramsey should start getting extended time in CM, as good as Cazorla has been, he's not doing enough in terms of goal scoring, while Ramsey for a while could not stop scoring from CM, so maybe start playing him there, and the OX out wide on the right.
Still don't trust Ox starting on the right (as an impact sub he's great) but maybe a consistent run of games there is all he needs. His end product still does need improvement and I do feel he's a bit naive defensively but those can only be rectified by playing. Don't want to do major tinkering for United but up next is Bournemouth in the League. Not an easy one but it'd be a good time to start him on a run at RW. Do think Santi will be phased out of CM this season.
I'll be going today, won 2 free tickets at the clock end.....can't wait. Judging by the way both teams are playing, I see goals in this game.
So glad I mugged some one for £60 for my ticket for today's game. After the midweek debacle, there was no way I would go again today, would have gladly given the game for free!
I was feeling like this would be a nervy tight game with a 1-0 winner... But heading towards the game I'm feeling like it's going to be open and manic and have a few goals in it. Both teams have gone for pace up top.
