According to Graham Beescroft the board were split in what to do over Brendan Rodgers whose side have only picked up 8 points out of 18 so far this season, that John W. Henry made the decision before last night's game.

After seeing the team fail to break down league 2 opponents it only compounded Henry's decision. The only thing that will save Brendan (for the short term) will be Carlo Ancelotti saying No to the job.

According to Beescroft Jurgen Klopp is not being considered as a replacement despite news from his connections emerging today saying he's looking for a job in England.

It appears Rodgers has lost the Fans, owners and players as evidenced by Brendan giving a team talk to himself last night before extra time.

Shh that's secretly put in the goal to stop balls crossing the line. But Rodgers forgot to use it last night.

Good news lads. villa are awful but regardless of the result there's always hope.

Liverpool lose, Sherwood joins as manager, instant success. If that doesn't work then Mick McCarthy is always available, even when he's not. Like Rodgers, he's not afraid to drop his entire first team for potentially their biggest game in years. The man management skills are eerily similar.

On a serious note (this will be hard but I will try), telling a man he's sacked but not until Monday has got to be one of the stupidest, most insane things you can do..

Oi, Mr Rodgers, just letting you know that from Monday, clear your desk, your fired....

Real motivation for the weekends game. Your club is run by morons.

Imagine how much worse this could have been had we managed to actually win the title. He'd have had two more grace years left yet.

Mind, I'd have taken it too lol
