Phew!!!! Just watched the England Fiji game and it's knackering just sitting on my sofa watching it. I would definately not like to be in a sandwich between those packs. England got the right result and the extra point at the death but boy did they make hard work of it. The way they started I thought it was going to be a breeze so fair play to the Fiji players for making a real game of it. It's going to be a very exhausting few weeks.
Lol it was exhausting watching that wasn't it ! For the opening match and England's first game I thought we did pretty well especially the last 10 minutes .... #carrythemhome
Great game and a good result, even better one earlier.. the japs beat South africa .. entertaining until the end... More entertaining than watching the football world cup.. action all the way even tho i am a football fan.. Could not get there today as away in torbay...
I watched a lot of the rugby match in the Hyde Park Social Club with Man C v West Ham on their other tele. I was more enthralled with the rugby than the football to be honest. Like a lot of other people I suspect I kept waiting for the Japan side to collapse and for South Africa to run riot over them. SA kept going a couple of points in front and Japan kept getting them back again and it was edge of seat right up to the end. I suspect also that nobody in their right mind would have bet on the Japanese to beat what is one of the best sides on the planet. Fantastic underdog story if ever there was one and the looks on the Japanese players faces at the end was priceless.
There is obviously a closing of the gap between the mighty and the minow in Rugby at the moment. Watched 2 more games today and although the underdogs lost both of them as expected, the points gap wasn't as large as a lot would have thought it would be. Thought the Argentinians in particular did really well against the All Blacks. I'm going to have to be careful not to get carried away with all this rugby stuff as I might end up going to Albion instead of Argyle. It's nice to see two sides go at it from the off without crying into their shirts though and falling down when not touched. I haven't seen anyone have a pop at the Ref yet either.
Is anyone else watching this bleddy Rugby World Cup or what?????? Saw the All Black v Namibia game tonight and found myself taking every tackle for Namibia in the true British sense of wanting the underdog to do well. They were obviously on a hiding to nothing from the start but was so impressed with the way they kept battling away and even putting some points on the board. Some of their players should get the freedom of their Country for the way they get stuck in and give everything for the cause. Even though the outcome is pretty easy to predict in some games I am finding it quite entertaining which surprises me a bit. I'm not the greatest Rugby fan or at least wasn't.
I'll watch the game against Wales....but being away didn't see any of the earlier games......watched a little of the NZ v Namibia.....they fought hard but didn't stand a chance really did they.......obviously it will get more interesting as the days go by......so you wont be by yourself sensible. Getting Mrs Plym interested in football is one thing but rugby....well I doubt it.
My back went this morning and I've been immobile all day waiting with baited breath for the England v Wales game. How bleddy disappointing was that in the end..... Total indiscipline by England and had they been good boys instead of giving away stupid penalties they would have been home and dusted with ease. Full marks to the Wales team though who kept at it for the whole match. There will be a lot of tired players tonight I think. Won't it be just typical if the other home nations get through and England are the only ones who don't.
Still suffering and a bit immobile so sat through several more games today. Bit of an anti climax to be honest as they went according to the rule book and were easy wins for the ones supposed to win.
The game against Australia will be my ...next see match.....and maybe our last if we lose.....that's assuming Wales can find enough players of quality to keep winning....they're dropping like flies.....still can't figure out how they beat us......down to the indiscipline in the end......giving free points away....plus their try out of the blue.
Have to say I'm quite getting into the Rugby even if I doubt I'll ever be a total convert. I haven't quite hidden behind the sofa yet when the big boys in the teams chuck a tackle in but it does make you wince. Footballers should be forced to watch this competition. They might just realise how stupid and babyish they look when they fall down after a puff of wind goes by. They also might learn how to treat a referee because no matter how wrong we might think Refs are sometimes, they are in charge and it's not for players to surround them like a pack of animals. The punters give their opinion which is fair enough in my book as they are paying to watch but the players should abide by decisions. I expect I will watch a lot more of the competition
yep i have watched most of the games and will do until the end, if we are in or out.. We need to beat the Aussies and hope fiji give wales a run? They deserved the result against us
Have to say Australia looked awesome the other day. Not sure either us or the Welsh will beat them. Wales could fall foul of Fiji given they are no pushover and most of the Welsh players are injured in some way. Long shot I know but we could still make it. To be honest though I don't care much who wins it, it's just worth a watch. I didn't hurt my back plym it just goes every now and again for no apparent reason. I'm usually somewhat immobile for a few days and it settles again and the pain goes. To be honest I'm almost used to it now having had it like that for a lot of years. I think it's a trapped nerve that does it. Gets me out of shoping sometimes so not a complete disaster.
Yep i think Aussies will be there or thereabouts come the final.. we need to go for it on Saturday and get the result.. but some how can't see it.. Some great games and more to come, definitely worth the watch. Hope the back recovers soon .
A rich Pensioner with plenty of money in the back pocket! You should spend some of it and it won't weigh you down... blow the moth's off those notes.
Typical Tory business person making moths homeless.....as it's a nice evening I'm taking the missus out for a meal shortly. Nothing like sharing a bag of crisps and sitting in the sun on the Hoe. We take a flask and share a tea bag as well. Nobody can tell me I don't know how to treat a lady. I messaged you earlier this week Joe.
