Yep the youngsters did well and we should have put more points on the board, but q good performance in the end..

Aussies look the best all round side , but its knockout next so anything can happen..

Game of the day was France v Ireland and another war of attrition. God it looked bleddy hard out there and hats off to both teams who had already qualified. That's the pride the players have in rugby and it shows. I still say that footballers should be made to watch these games over and over until they learn what effort and committment are all about.

They where both trying to avoid playing NZ in the quarter-finals.....both hoping to win and play Argentina which should be slightly easier.

A great game with the Jock's... Not a fan of their's but they were robbed.. Did you see the ref run for the tunnel? he knew he was wrong?
A lot of the ref's at football need to start to run like that as they are all pretty much carp! Spoilt a good game..

Yesterday the South African fans were moaning about the Ref as he was English.. even tho they won.. Refs get it bad in all sport's :emoticon-0104-surpr

Rugby Refs have it quite easy where they can check with the off field Ref and have a look at the pictures again. But, give the players their due they don't kick off and moan on the field.

I thought all 4 games were pretty good this weekend. Have to say I was well impressed with the Argentinian side who I didn't think had enough in their locker to trouble the Irish. Shows my rugby predictions are as bad as my football ones. They won't win it or even get to the final but they are a much better side than they used to be. I did feel for the Scots even if that's normally against my instincts. Well impressed with this competition so far and have to say the crowds have been first class along with the rugby.

Scots not too pleased to lose by a penalty that was wrongly given in the last seconds.

They are favourites for every world cup. It is hard to see past them though so they do justify it. Must admit I didn't spot the knock on to hand with the Aussies and Scots even though I've become pretty good at spotting infringements and why Ref is blowing his whistle. What makes it look suss is him running off like he did. He will have to explain sometime won't he.

The ball was flying around at that moment as if it was in a pin ball machine.....easily missed.......the ref is only human.....the rules didn't allow him to refer that type of action to the TV play back when asked by the Scots.....I think that is more the problem.....so although playback sorts out most things.....that is one element of the game that needs to be looked at........with everything literally being referred back to the screen there would be no flow to the game.....and eighty minutes would turn into a hundred plus minutes very easily.....it would get dragged out like a boring grid iron American football game.

On the otherhand you could say the Scots where robbed.....funnily enough I didn't need my hanky to wipe away a tear for them.

Well these things happen, it has happened to us in football at times in big competitions. But the ref should have stayed on the pitch and not run away? I think that was the bit everyone now is kicking up about.. Poor old Jocks, not going to the Euros either.. They can still cheer that Murray at :emoticon-0157-sun: next summer.. how lucky they are :emoticon-0119-puke:

I think I'd agree with that Joe. They do pretty well considering how fast everything happens and don't often miss much. I just don't get the sprint for the tunnel though unless he was desperate for the little boys room. Even so he should have stayed and I don't think there would be this fuss if he had. Sport is full of hard luck stories and this is just another one that most Countries have had in some sport somewhere.

Yep, he should have stayed and shook the players hand at least even tho he made a mistake.. I was at the game saturday and it was immense and end to end as a neutral great.. Even come the end the welsh were applauding the SA try.. so very sporting.. I did here that the ref had a bottle thrown at him in the scotland game at the end.. so may be why he ran off? it will all come out soon i suspect

Hard hard game today for both sides and to be honest I thought South Africa played better than I expected. I know they are 3rd rated in the World of Rugby but the gulf between NZ and the rest has been massive so far in this competition. Thought both sides played well and it could have gone either way. I still think the All Blacks are nailed on for the winning spot. I hope Argentina win tomorrow which is me going for the underdog. It would be great for rugby if they were in the final.

I sat down today with every fibre hoping that Argentina, despite that Maradona prat being there, would cause an upset and beat the Aussies. From 90 seconds you could see it wasn't going to happen but I did think the Argentinians did themselves proud and gave them a game. The Aussies were clinical and did everything they needed to do and at every point in the game they needed to do it.

So it's on to the final and absolutely no shocks as to who will be contesting it. I think the All Blacks will win it and it will be business as usual.

For the first time in this competition I can't quite get into this bronze medal match. I don't think the South Africans have broken sweat and the Argentinians haven't gotten into it. It's a little boring to be honest.

Well an entertaining final and well deserved to the All Blacks, but when they went down a man the Aussies looked lively. They had it back within 4 points but the Kiwis were the best side init from day one..
Great tournament , just wish the football wold cup could live up to it.. i wonder if Blatter watched this tournament?
