So you're sponsoring someone who runs around a lot but has no end product?

:bandit:

THATS A JOKE FFS!

Nice one, how much does this sort of thing cost then? What do you actually sponsor? Kit? Wages (obviously not all of them...)? Sommat else?

What's the benefit for both sides really is what I'm asking?

Serious question btw, genuinely interested, I've seen companies do this without any real understanding of what either side gets.

He's one of my current fave players, seems a genuinely nice bloke, and he supports a lot of youth and development stuff too.

The club don't like the precise details of deals being made public and the prices vary depending on the player, but as a guide, standard rate-card price is about £1,500 for a first team player.

For that, you get your logo in every match programme, on the screen at every home game and it's announced every time your player is subbed on, subbed off, or scores a goal (you obviously also get to meet your player and get the signed shirt). It's basically advertising yourself, while at the same time supporting the club.

....and it's helps to build a relationship with the club.

It's a positive move from both parties, and it confirms what's been said previously, that the Club are willing to help fans prominently display the Hull City name when it's requested.

Ah ok, cheers. So the player doesn't actually benefit.

Good stuff all round.

"Nice thought, but for future reference the club name is Hull City AFC, never be ashamed to use it."
The trust are more than happy to use any of the names, Hull City AFC, Hull City, City, The Tigers . These are the names the fans have always used, so what's up Mel?

And that HCST are looking to work with and help the club in anyway they can. Things are looking brighter at last <ok>

Its nothing to do with building bridges. They're sponsoring a player. Nothing more.

The club are obviously quite happy about the minimal impact of the trust. Any ambitions about running the club in any way are ridiculous and would be given short shrift.

Move on.
