Surprised by everyone saying we've gone past his level? We were one place higher last season without him and in truth I think it was the defence more than the attack that improved. This season we look very very short of creativity, I get that people don't like the way he left but if he you offered me lallana in the form of when he left I'd bite your hand off.

Also he's clearly a confidence player who needs the team to be centered on him, Coutinho is clearly better so that's why he's struggling but you don't become a bad player overnight.

You can debate on how much or little Lallana might improve a Saints side, but personally I don't think he makes a significant enough improvement. Besides, he's not the player we don't have. He's not a player with great vision, say like Fabregas [who is in shocking form at present], or dare I say it, Rickie Lambert in his midfielder guise, and we have Mane who can do Lallana's old job of putting the wind up defences.

As I mentioned before, all the top 6 sides have playmakers. Even Swansea have Shelvey, but Saints aren't going to attract them. Which is why I suggested Sissoko. Of course, that's from the pool of players I know well. I'm sure Saints have their eyes on several unknown to me.

Sorry but no. He and the club have moved on. As we look to move forward AL is not the level we are looking for and personally l see him as someone who, at best, would be a bench warmer. I agree that we need another player to unlock defenses, but we need someone better than him to take us to the next level.

Sissoko would cost upward of £20m I'd suspect. Plus wages wouldn't be insignificant. I don't think he'd realistically come our way (unfortunately).

I think it'll be a cold day in hell before we sign any player from another Premier League team.

Possible
, just possible if we become a regular top six side.

I know what you mean, but you're always going to fall into the trap you set for yourself there.

I should know, I've done it enough times.

FWIW, I can't think of another. :)

Wonder what Liverpool will do with him now. He's got a year left on his contract after this season, right? Try and recoup quickly, let it run down, or offer him a new one?
Has really been no better karmic sale than Adam Lallana - screwed both parties!

Well he has scored s decent goal tonight.

The irony is, I bet Brenda would prefer to have lost and got knocked out eventually, so they can have a serious crack at finishing 8th-10th in the league in the league, and QF of the League Cup. Probably thought with that team and Adam in there, is no chance of getting anything.

Taking away the emotion

I do think we miss his drive on the ball. Picking it up in midfield and running directly at the opposition.
Manè does it, but no one else in the squad does.

But that's just one aspect. I'm not sure he would create or score more than Tadic this season.

We have not had that drive since he left and he would pass the ball off left and right so well. Mane is much more direct and (in a good way) selfish.

However he would not come back the same player, he would not have the same respect of (or for) his ex team mates or fans and he would have shown his hand already. 'Good season I'm off.'

We got our money for him. Let him go the Liverpool reserves>West Ham>Championship route now.

He would most definitely score and create more than Tadic though, where did that comment come from?
