I've not known a manager since Paul Hart who polarises supporters so early into his tenure.

Even Mark Hughes and Harry Redknapp were given 6-9 months before the tide turned.

I guess it's a case of once bitten twice shy.

We have not had one good performance under him this season.
He has admitted himself that our best performance was in the first half against Charlton. This means that we are going backwards.
We look a mid-table championship team and will have no chance of being in the top 6 under him.

Granted. I'd written off his EPL tenure to 'Arry.

We were opining on the way back yesterday that even Stewart Houston was given more of a honeymoon period.

Luigi Di Canio's also name cropped up - though in positive tones - why did he leave? I thought it was a family matter (wife was homesick??)

A long one! <laugh>

Realistically, he only really started in July, as the die was cast long before he was put in temporary charge when 'Arry did his Houdini act, albeit with a hobble in his step, as he waltzed off into the sunset.... I mean long successful media career....

Did you not post a thread yesterday that had SLF explaining that we moved 16 players out and 14 in? We now expect this almost completely new group of players to somehow miraculously tear up this league having hardly played together.

I admire how you said that without using the forbidden "gel" word!

However, in my more sensible moments, I agree with you.

I wasn't in favour of Ramsey's appointment but I do feel we must give him considerably more time before launching a "Ramsey Out" campaign.

I think the fact that Austin, Phillips and Fer stayed has increased the optimism we'll be too strong for this division. It takes more than three players to make a winning team and the rest of the team has to establish a pattern of play that suits. I still think we need a couple of quality loans to give us some options as Charlie on his own upfront doesn't look quite right.

I seem to recall we struggled similarly under Harry in the early part of the 13-14 season but were winning luckily by the odd goal with Charlie often on his own, he did better when Zamora was there alongside. It needs to be sorted out otherwise Charlie might decide to cut and run in January. On the one hand everyone will then blame Ramsey, on the other hand it might produce the cash to bring in other options.

I feel we may have several more similar performances before we start to find the right balance...

I find it very difficult to understand how far our fan base has gone
Time people accepted where we are as a club ... We are In transition having possibly been the worse football story in recent times
I want us to stick with CR win or lose
I cannot understand the QPR supporter who thinks we deserve instant success
We have location and heritage
Both have nearly been ruined by our club management
These are testing times and in 4 games time we will have an idea
The fans who think we will be promoted now inSeptember need understand that in this league anyone can beat anyone
If we are successful and make it I can't trust that the club wouldn't buy big names again
Football has got so boring IMO

Benny is a coach not a manger, i said that some time ago. In his post match interview he looked like he was about to cry. Sadly i put him in the same ilk as Terry Conner at Wolves and Steve Kean at Blackburn Rovers.
The football this season under him as been dire (bar Wolves 2nd half). Yesterdays game was 'goofball' and hardly played on the ground. Even under Redknapp we would pass it.
TF has put a lot of faith in him and we are gambling with the future of Austin and Phillips. Yes i want stability and can wait for Champions League football but what i won't accept is playing crap football with our team in a poor division. If we fail, we will lose our best players and be stuck in this crap division for a long time.

Who da fakk is Benny?

I think Les and Ramsey have done good work this summer. Most of the player ins and outs look right and the ones that went who shouldn't have, went because of decisions made before their time, especially McCarthy. I like the way they seem to want us to play, but Saturday was the first game with the squad they have assembled this summer so they do need time to get it settled. Our great team of the 70'site took years to get to the top, not 1 game FFS.

Biggest problem is our biggest asset. Austin scores goals but still looks way off being able to play up front by himself, he's not a good target man and he don't contribute in attacking build up. We probably made a mistake in not cashing in on him and bringing in a couple of decent strikers, ideally one a target man and the other a quicker player who can play a bit more than our Charlie.

But it's too late now. Think Austin needs to be told to stick in and around the box as mobile there as he can manage, and the balls into him need to be a lot better than they were Saturday. Plus more need to get into the box to support him.

a few posters on twitter refered to Ramsey as Benny (because he wears that silly hat)

He's in good company, especially if we were based in Winnipeg.
